Taylor Swift - 1989

Taylor Swift - 1989

So unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months you will know that Taylor Swift has just released a new album called 1989 that has already gone to number 1 on iTunes.

I've been a fan of Taylor Swift since I first heard the song Love Story at the age of 12. And 6 years on and I still love her music just as much. I think that she is an incredibly talented songwriter and singer and performer (I was lucky enough to see her Red Tour!). She has a song for about every single emotion a growing teenage girl can feel and there where times when I was younger where I would hide in my room listening to her songs on my nano and her lyrics would speak to me like no other artist could.

Her music has changed a bit since her first few albums and she's slowly moving away from country. And while I do still love country Taylor I feel that as her music matures I'm also growing up with her. Her last album Red was quite different to her typical country songs but for me it was my absolute all time favourite album. Every single song was so beautifully written and to me it was just perfect.

1989 is another incredible album by Taylor Swift. There are some song you can dance to, songs to sing to and songs to cry to. She takes you on this emotional roller-coaster through the album as she pours her heart and so much emotion into every song. So if you think this might be your kind of music and you haven't checked it out yet then I really can't recommend this enough.

My favourite songs from 1989:
Blank Space
Out Of The Woods
Wildest Dreams
You Are In Love
Shake It Off
This Love

Also if you buy the Deluxe album you can hear a few voice memos of how Taylor begins to write a few of the different songs. I think it is so cool to hear such a talented artist write their music and then go back and listen to the completed song. Obviously this is not a sponsored post but I just wanted to talk about my favourite artists new album.

Let me know in the comment below what you think of the album and what your favourite songs are :) xx

P.S. Happy Halloween everyone :D

Winter Beauty Favourites

Winter Beauty Favourites

Penney Chic beauty winter makeup drugstore

Penney Chic beauty winter makeup drugstore

Today I wanted to talk about my Winter Beauty Favourites and I feel like now it is suddenly getting a lot colder it is he perfect time. I love all of the beautiful rich shades that you always see this time of year and everything starts to feel a little bit Christmassy! All of these products you can find on the highstreet for really great prices too!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick - Bluffing
This is just the perfect shade for everyday or for evening. It's a beautiful shimmery bronzy brown that takes just seconds to apply over the lid and on the lower lash line. And I think that this works really well with a darker wintery lip colours as it is still fairly subtle.

The Body Shop Eye Colour - 43
I was lucky enough to find this in the sale last year and just fell completely in love with the colour. It's a beautiful shimmery emerald green that I do have to feel a little brave to wear. But you don't see this colour makeup too often and for me this is just something a little different that looks gorgeous for this time of year.

Sleek Blush - Coral
I think blusher is essential for this time of year. At the moment I don't have a tan and my skin often looks a little dull. Blusher is perfect for giving your skin a healthy glow and make you look as if you have just come in from the cold! For me despite the name this isn't really a coral colour. But for this time of year I love slightly darker blushes that can really make a deep red or plum lipstick pop!

The Body Shop Eyeliner - Golden Brown
Firstly these Body Shop eyeliners are so pigmented and amazing for blending. I love this golden brown shade just in the outer corner and along my lower last line to add something pretty to my everyday makeup look.

Maybelline Colorsensational Shine Gloss - Gleaming Grenadine
I picked this up not to long ago and it has already become such a favourite of mine. This is just the perfect gloss if you want a red lip without making too much of a statement. So I thin that it is perfect for everyday as well.

NYC Expert Last Nail Polish - 263 Money Never Sleeps
I saw a nail polish in this beautiful emerald green colour by Butter London a few weeks ago but I couldn't bring myself to part with £12 for one nail polish, especially now I am a student! But then a few days later in Superdrug I saw this shade by NYC and I knew it was meant to be! I think for autumnal and winter colours this is a really great alternative to the burgundy plum shade that everyone starts to wear. And this was such a bargain!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick - 128 Starry Eyed
I wore this so much last winter and I know this year it is going to be exactly the same! This really is just the most beautiful deep plum dark lip shade and I think that for their price Rimmel do some of the best lipsticks on the highstreet.

Essie Nail Polish - Midnight Cami
Another colour that I love to wear on my nails this time of year is navy. I think it looks so chic and sophisticated. This one by Essie is the perfect navy with a hit of shimmer running through it. And I really can't fault the formulation of Essie nail polishes.

Loreal Colour Riche Nude Eyeshadow - 205 Sable Lame
Don't really understand the name of this one, but that aside this really is the most beautiful Christmassy gold. And yes, I did use the C word for a second time in this post! The formulation of these eyeshadows are just so pigmented and I really can't get over this amazing gold shade. This would look perfect for the upcoming party season this an amazing red lip.

Hope you liked this post. What beauty products do you love for winter? xx

I Think I've Been Blogging Over A Year...

I Think I've Been Blogging Over A Year...

Picture I found from the same time I started this blog! To be honest I think I look exactly the same!

Oops! I feel a little silly. Just now I went to check and I have realised that I wrote my first post on this blog a year ago yesterday! That's crazy! I honestly can't believe that I have been blogging for a year now. I really have loved every moment of it and I just wanted to quickly thank everyone who reads my blog, likes my posts or writes comments. It means so much to me. But really I just love taking pretty pictures, writing about clothes and products that I like and uploading them onto my own little space on the internet. And I've found so many amazing blogs along the way that I now can't stop reading!

Lots of love,

A Few New Things

A Few New Things

Penney Chic shopping haul H&M beauty makeup jewellery

Just wanted to share with you a few really pretty and not very expensive little things that I picked up the other day. The first place that I went was TK Maxx which is a shop I feel I am getting a little bit obsessed with. When I walk in there I always head straight to the makeup section as you can find some really great stuff there like brands that are harder to find or more expensive brands for really cheap. I picked up this elf jumbo eyeshadow stick in a really beautiful bronze shade. Then when I was heading to the till I spotted this eyeshadow brush and I really wanted to try it out.

After that I quickly popped into H&M and found myself loving a lot of the things in the accessories section. But I managed to limit myself to this little pale pink pouch for about £5 and this set of a moon and star necklaces for £3. I thought that the pouch would be great for cards and money when I am only taking a clutch out and I thought that the necklaces were so pretty with a simple top or jumper.

Hope you liked this little haul of just a few little bits and pieces. I'm back at university after spending a lovely few days in the Peak District with my family. Speak soon xx

Anyway, earlier today I found myself on this website again and I found several things that I feel in love with and wanted to share with you.

White high waist net skater skirt
Beige lapel long sleeved zipper wool coat
Apricot lapel long sleeve belt coat
White sleeveless porcelain print flare dress

My Real Techniques Brushes

My Real Techniques Brushes

Penney Chic real techniques brushes

Penney Chic real techniques brushes

I know that there are so many reviews of these brushes all over the internet but I really wanted to talk about what I like to use each of these brushes for. I was lucky enough to receive all of these brushes for my birthday this year after wanted them for over a year. And I was definitely not disappointed. These are really amazing brushes, especially for the price and I honestly do not know what I used before these!

The Buffing Brush - I think this is my favourite brush of all. It just applies foundation or BB cream so beautifully and evenly. Before this I just used to use my fingers and it was so much harder to really blend the makeup in so it looked natural. Can't live without this one now!

The Pointed Foundation Brush - This is probably my least used out of all the brushes. But sometimes I like to use it to really blend in my concealer, particularly around my eyes. If you have any other uses for this brush though then I would love to hear about them in the comments.

The Foundation Brush - I don't think that I have ever actually used this for foundation, but to me this is the perfect bronzer/contour brush. I use this with my Bourjois chocolate bronzer to really define my cheek bones and then I like to bring it up a bit on my forehead and down under my chin to create a shadow of a more defined jaw line. Personally I think that this brush is perfect for bronzer.

The Detailer Brush - I don't use this one all the time but I do find it comes in very useful for when I am doing a smokey eye look. I like to use my Sephora black eye liner to outline my eyes and then I use this brush to smudge everything out and make it look more smokey. The brush isn't overly soft which makes it perfect for blending thicker more pigmented eye liners/ gels or cream eyeshadows.

The Expert Face Brush - this is the other one that I like to use for foundation and BB cream. I think I prefer the buffing brush as it is slightly softer so I think blends more naturally but this is still a really good one, way better than fingers!

The Contour Brush - Again I don't really use this one for contour. For me this is the perfect little blusher brush that's quite nice and small you you can really focus the colour where you want it on the cheeks.

Hope that maybe this helps you find some new ways you can use you real techniques brushes. They are really amazing brushes, some of the best on the high street. And if you use any of these brushes in a different way then let me know in the comments :) xx

Autumn Dinner Outfit

Autumn Dinner Outfit

Penney Chic autumn dress style fashion topshop

Yesterday we had a formal dinner at my halls of residence so we all had a chance to get dressed up. And believe it or not this is the first time I have worn a dress at university! I just wanted to quickly show you what I wore and how I did my makeup as I was feeling pretty Autumnal.

I've finally worked out how to position and set my camera on timer so that it focuses by sorry that the quality of the pictures aren't great. Hopefully I will get better with practice. I just thought it would be nice for you to see the dress on me rather than laying it on my bed which I have been doing for all my other outfit posts recently.

The dress that I am wearing is from Topshop and I got it in the sale a couple of years ago. It's a little small for me but I just loved it so much that I was prepared to squeeze! I just think that the colours are beautiful and that it is prefect for this time of year. It's also great because I can wear it with black tights and it can pick up the black lace on the dress.

Penney Chic beauty autumn makeup

Hehe! Looking nice and posy! For my makeup I did a little bit of a brown smokey eye with my Maybelline colour tattoo in On and on bronze and the Rimmel glam eyes palette in smokey brun. And then lots of mascara and a bit of a berry lip (although you can't really see it in the photo)

Penney Chic autumn dress style fashion topshop

Left my hair natural and kept my jewellery very simple as there is quite a lot going on in the dress already.

Love the beautiful lace detail on the dress.

Hope you like this post and are all looking forward to the weekend (and possibly half term now). I have a reading week at university which is basically a half term so tomorrow I am going to stay with my family for a few days in the peak district. It's been 6 weeks since I last saw them and I have missed them all so much. Can't wait for lots of hugs and chatting with my family and snuggles with my doggy. Might not be able to post quite as often as I really want to spend some quality time with them. Won't be seeing them after this until Christmas! Speak soon xx

Winter Essie Haul

Winter Essie Polishes

Winter Essie Polishes

Winter essie nail polishes

Winter essie nail polishes

A few days ago I read a post by Miss Makeup Magpie about an Essie Haul that she had done on a website called Fragrance Direct which is selling Essie nail polishes for £2.50. You can check out her post and see the colours that she bought here. I'd never heard of this website before but I really am so happy that I have as I found some really great bargains.

In Boots Essie nail polishes are sold for £7.99 and from salons they are even more expensive. So I can't believe how cheap these polishes are, especially considering they are some of the new shades. As well as 32 of the regular polishes they also sell two of the snake skin nail polishes and two of the multidimensional top coats.

The shades that I picked up were:
Shearling Darling - A beautiful sophisticated dark browny plum

Belugaria - a black with large glitter pieces in that I think will be great for Halloween!
Ignite the night - A very fine silver glittery polish perfect for the upcoming party season

Parka Perfect - This is my favourite and one that I have wanted for a while. It's a bluey grey with a hint of sparkle running though. So beautiful and usual and I think this will look lovely for every season.

I also picked up a couple of Calvin Klein lipsticks for less than £2 which I will write about once I have used then a bit and done some samples. So if you haven't checked out fragrance direct then you can click the link here. I especially recommend it is you are an Essie obsessive like myself. I've been back on their website since and made another wishlist for more polishes. So far I'm staying strong though!

Neutrogena Skin Care Rountine

Neutrogena Skin Care Rountine

I haven't written about my skincare routine for quite a long time on the blog and considering that I have been using these products probably about 4 months now I feel like I can talk to you about how I have been getting on with them.

Since about the age of 14 I've had some problems with my skin. It's not awful, I know that some people have a lot worse but it is enough to make me pretty self concious. Over the years I have tried so many different products hoping to find the one, but I never really have. Some have just been awful and really irritated my skin and others have worked for a little while.

So before I talk to you about these products I just wanted to say that they aren't miracle workers. Your skin isn't just about the products that you put on it, there are so many other factors. I like to think I eat pretty healthily, drink enough water and get enough sleep most of the time. But the fact is that right now I am still in my teens and spots are a totally normal thing. So I realise that a skin care routine probably isn't going to make all my spots disappear but I just need something that isn't going to make me breakout more than I naturally will. And I have faith that my skin will continue to improve as I get older and don't have as many hormones flying all over the place!

Anyway, back to the products. After a particularly bad skin patch several months ago I went to the doctors and she recommend Neutrogena as the best high street brand for skin care. She said most of their products contain Salicylic Acid which is the best ingredient for fighting spots. I picked up this pink grapefruit facial wash and so far I am really impressed. It smells really nice and leaves my skin feeling really clean and fresh but it is still gentle enough on my sensitive skin. I definitely do still get spots but since using these Neutrogena products I think my skin had cleared up a bit and become a lot less "bumpy".

About a week later I went back to Boots and picked up the blackhead eliminating lotion and the oil-free moisturiser. I had always though I had dry skin so had always used really thick heavy moisturisers. But it turns out that was probably what was clogging up my pores as I actually have normal/combination skin that can get a little sensitive. I use the blackhead eliminating lotion a bit like a toner and it only took about 2/3 weeks to see the reduction in my blackheads, especially around my nose. I also now only use a tiny bit of the moisturiser and concentrate this mostly on my cheeks where my skin gets driest. Sometimes when you do have spots the best thing that you can do is leave them to dry out on their own rather than coat them in millions of different potions and lotions.

If you are looking for a quick fix to perfect skin, like the majority of products these aren't going to deliver. But they are good ones in my opinion particularly for younger more acne prone skin. Hope you have found this helpful in some way. Or at least if you do suffer from bad skin then know that you are not alone and that hopefully it will go with time.

Speak soon xx

Mini Haul - Black and White

Mini Haul - Black and White

I feel like my current love for monochrome is starting to get a little bit out of hand! It seems like everything I buy is either black, white or a mix of the two. But anyway, recently (as always!) I have been doing a little bit of shopping and I wanted to show you what I have been buying.

The first thing that I bought was this cami top from River Island. I've seen a lot of people wearing this top in different colours but the print of this one really caught my eye. It's quite unusual and I thought it would look great with jeans and my black leather jacket. What I really love about this top though is the neckline as it is really flattering.

The other black and white print top that I got was this one from Topshop. I'd tried it on in the shop before and fallen in love with it, but I just couldn't bring myself to part with £38! So when the student lock-in came around in Manchester I had 20% off plus a £5 gift card I finally allowed myself to buy the top. It was around £25 which I think is still a little pricey but I also think that the cut, print and shape make this top look a lot more expensive.
One think that does annoy me slightly though is that Topshop seem to be copying this print onto everything, leggings, crop tops, sleeveless tops etc and since I've bought this I've seen so many people wearing this print. Oh well, it's still beautiful!

I especially love the back of this top as I think that the stripe with the zip on the black make it look really classy and sophisticated.

When I was visiting my friend in Leeds we had a little wonder around the shops and ended up in the New Look sale section. I find it hard to find stuff in the sale section of shops as size 8 is quite a common size that normally sells out pretty quickly. However I spotted this and just thought it was beautiful so I couldn't resist it for £15. It looks pretty summery but while Autumn is still quite warm I have been wearing this loads with my khaki jeans and fun gilet.

This is another purchase from the student lock-in evening! In my opinion H&M at the moment is amazing. Every time I go in the shop they have so many amazing new pieces and they are all so afford able. I couldn't resist getting this LBD for £20. The cut is really lovely and I think the sleeves are so pretty. Worn with simple jewellery and some little heels this is another item that I think looks a lot more expensive than it actually was.

The dress is also pretty heavy as under the layer of lace there is a thick lining so you don't have to worry about anything looking see-through!

Accessorize is another one of my weaknesses so I couldn't leave with out buying this beautiful necklace. I have a lot of pendants and quite a few statement necklaces but nothing longer and pretty like this. To me this necklace just screamed Christmas/New Year with the glitzy stars!

I think this would look great with a simple white blouse, jeans and some heels.

And last but not least, my more useful purchase. For university I managed to pack loads of drop earrings and lots of glitzy pretty studs, but not a lot of simple studs that I cold wear everyday. And during freshers week I wore my favourite simple white people studs out and lost them so I've been needing to replace them ever since. These were £6 for a pack of 5 which I thought was pretty good and I know that I am going to get so much wear out of all of these.

Hope you liked this little haul, I'm sure there will be more coming up soon! What have you guys been buying for Autumn/Winter? Speak soon xx

The Perfect Dress For Christmas/New Year

The Perfect Dress For Christmas/New Year

A-line scoop sleeveless short tulle dress
A-line sweetheart chiffon high low dress
A-line strapless sleeveless beaded silver chiffon long dress
A-live chiffon sweetheart dark navy unique dress
A-line high neck sleeveless tulle sky blue modest dress
A-line sweetheart sleeveless black tulle glitter short dress
A-line bateau sleeveless floor length glitter dress

I know that it probably seems a little bit early for a post like this but in my opinion finding the perfect Christmas, New Years Eve or even Prom dress takes time. My year 13 Prom was in July and I ordered my dress in March!

For most of us there aren't very many times in the year when we can put on an amazing dress and feel like a princess for a night. So when there is an opportunity to get dressed up the hunt for the perfect dress is super exciting. Whether you've got a Prom coming up or this winter you have a Christmas Ball or a New Years Eve party then I wanted to do a little post on a place where you can find the most gorgeous dresses at amazing prices.

When I was looking for my prom dress at the beginning of this year I wanted something really special that no one else would have so I skipped looking on the high street and started looking on the internet instead. The website that I want the tell you about today is Aviva Dress. They provide dresses for brides, bridesmaids and special occasion events for people all over the world. And they ship in 48 hours!

Looking through their website to write this post I was amazed by the huge range of different dresses that they provide. They do long dresses, short dresses, high low dress and every other style you can imagine. I have put most of my favourites in the picture at the top of this post and the names of where you can find them below. But these are just the ones that I love and if your style is different then I am sure that you will still be able to find something that you love on their website. Another thing that is really amazing is that for a lot of the dresses you can chose different colours and for some you can even write your exact measurements so that you know the dress is going to fit perfectly. It's as if they are making the dress just for you!

The evening dresses range from very glitzy "wow" dresses to beautifully simple understated styles so there is something for everyone. And at the moment on all prom dresses there is 70%-80% off which is amazing. You can get a personalised dress that retails at £370 for £70!

I hope that this post inspires you to check out their website to start finding your perfect dress for the upcoming party season. Or even just that the pictures give you some inspiration for what you might want to wear. It gets very addictive just scrolling through all the beautiful designs, trust me! Click on the link below for the Aviva Dress website;

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, Speak soon xx

Pick Of The Pinks

Pick Of The Pinks

Like a lot of girls I love me some pink! And as October is cancer awareness month I thought that I would group together all of my favourite pink things and talk a little bit about them. Most of these products I have already talked about on my blog before so I will link all the pages below where you can find a more detailed description.

Fake flowers in pot - IKEA
Butterfly wash bag - Ted Baker

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in Demure - A very pretty glossy baby pink lip crayon. Read the full review here
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Mask - A really quick, light moisturising mask. You can check out my full review here
No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define in Pink Pearl - A beautiful shimmery baby pink shadow stick. This is really long wearing and brightening so I love using this on my inner corner. Review in full here
Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold - this has been a favourite for such a long time now. It's also what I chose to wear to my prom as it is so long-wearing and just beautiful. You can check out the review of this here
Neutrogena Visably Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash - been using this for the past few months now and so far I'm really impressed. Haven't done a full review of this yet but it should be coming up soon in a post all about my new facial routine.
Benefit Posie Tint - Quite a new favourite but very natural and such a gorgeous pink. Featured in my September monthly favourites here
Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 020 Pink Rose - I've had this blush for quite a while now and out of all of the blushes that I own it is still the one that I really for the most often. Really natural with a little bit of a glow and perfect for all times of year.
MaXfactor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 02 Pink Petal - A beautiful natural lip liner that works perfectly with gloss or a lipstick. I love using this to make my lips look a little bit fuller. Featured in my June favourites here
Maybelline Colorsensational Shine Gloss in Cashmere Rose - I've talked about this gloss on this blog so many times so you probably know all about it already. Basically it's the one that made me like wearing lip gloss again. Read me confessing my love for this product here in my March favourites!

Love that shimmery baby pink for eyes and lips.

Such a beautiful pink shade for cheeks and lips.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. Let me know what your favourite pink products are in the comments below :) xx

Winter Star Outfit

Winter Star Outfit

Another quick outfit post today! I think I must have been feeling slightly Christmassy when I put this outfit today with the colours and the stars. This outfit is all about layering different textures with the lace cami top, the jumper, leather jacket and the fur collar.

I kept my jewellery to 3 really beautiful pieces. The first is my rose gold Nixon watch which I wear everyday and the second is this beautiful necklace from accessorize. I love how this is not a simple pendant necklace but it's more of a very subtle statement necklace which makes it really easy to wear. I also wore this beautiful bracelet which was sent to me in the post by my parents. I have no idea where it is from but I think it is just gorgeous.

Love the beautiful detail on this bracelet.

The colours of my outfits were denim jeans and then black, white and grey. So for a little pop of my favourite winter colour I added this beautiful burgundy bag which I got last Christmas from Accessorize. I love how big this is so it is perfect for just chucking all of my stuff in!

The outfit really comes together with all the different layers in the different shades.

I think that the fur detail on the collar just adds something a little extra and makes the outfit feel really snug and wintery!

Hope you liked this little outfit post. Would love to hear in the comments below what you think. Speak soon xx

A Long Weekend In Durham

A Long Weekend In Durham

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago I spent this last weekend in Durham with my boyfriend where he is now at university. It was lovely to see him again and where he was now living as well as meet some of his new friends. I don't have any lectures on a Friday so I got a 2 hour train from Manchester on Thursday evening. I hadn't actually seen Jack for a month since I left for university and I had been really missing him. So I can't quite explain how amazing it was when I walked through the barriers and he was standing there grinning ready to give me a massive hug!

Despite Jack having to work for a lot of Friday and then all of Saturday evening I had the most amazing weekend. On Friday I met him from work and then we wondered around Durham together. And even though it is a city is feels like a beautiful little town. He showed me the bridge with the view of the cathedral which we took a couple of photos in front of.

After dinner in the evening we got changed and then headed over to another kitchen with a group of his friends for some pre-drinks. At about 11pm we went out to Klute, a club in Durham that is meant to be one of the worst clubs ever! Famous for it's grotty surrounding and cheesy music! I understand what people say about it being so bad it's good though. One of Jack's friends had been there for something like 7 nights in a row. In Manchester I'm used to hip-hop and club music so hearing all the old school classics like Robbie Williams and S club 7 was actually so cool and so much fun to dance to!

On Saturday we woke up late and had brunch in his halls which serves exactly the same food as mine! Then in the afternoon we wondered back into town and went to the cinema to see The Maze Runner. I thought that it was a good film but to be honest it was pretty much exactly the same as the Hunger Games. After we went to the Krispy Kreme Cafe where we bought three doughnuts and could only manage one between us!

When Jack went to work from 5-2am in the evening I stayed with some of the girls from his corridor chatting for ages in the kitchen and then watching a film and eating loads of rubbish. Just what I needed after the night before! At after 1:30am just after the film finished I walked down to the bar where Jack works to surprise him. I thought it would be so scary walking there on my own but Durham is so safe (not quite like Manchester!) and there were so many other student walking around too. I thought that the bar where Jack worked would be full of old people and pretty empty. But when I got there it might as well have been a club there were so many students. And while I was sitting on the wall in my jeans, converse, jacket and scarf they where all stumbling out of the bar in heels and tiny dresses! I felt so out of place and I actually heard one drunk guy ask his friend if they thought I was a busker!! How embarrassing!

It was so lovely to surprise Jack who was actually just calling me to tell me he was coming home when he saw me! When we got back we got into our pyjamas and ate our other two Krispy Kreme doughnuts with hot chocolates and marshmellows.

On Sunday we had a pretty lazy morning and then at around midday I caught the train back to Manchester. I was pretty sad to leave but I am so excited for him to come down to Manchester in 3 weeks time.

Jacks birthday was at the beginning of October so I finally got around to giving him his present which was the burgundy Topman jacket that you can see him wearing in the picture. I also gave him a scrapbook that I had made mostly filled with photos and tickets and stuff from our amazing summer together. He made me this adorable card which he said took him ages to make and a university survival kit! The kit consists of caffine pills, earplugs, tactical toothbrush replacement and boy repellent! He also got me quite a bit of chocolate but that didn't last long enough to be in this post! I love cool home-made presents like this and it definitely made me laugh.

I had the nicest weekend so thank you to my boyfriend for having me and to all of his friends for being so welcoming. I can't wait to show him around Manchester which is so different!

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Hands And Feet

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Hands And Feet

I started using the original Bourjois magic nail polish remover several months ago and I'm not sure that I have used any other remover on my finger nails since. And yes, I was one of those people who tried to fir their toes into the pot - it really doesn't work! So I waited until I dipped my finger into the pink pot and the colour didn't really come off before I allowed myself to purchase this new version.

This comes in exactly the same pot with the big sponge that you dip your finger in to remove your polish. The difference with this purple on is that there is a a sponge soaked in the same remover on the lid that can be used for removing polish on toe nails. Personally I don't think that the toe nail polish remover part is as "magic" as the hand remover. But having them both together in one little pot that seems to last several months is pretty useful. For about £5 as well this is such good value and I really can't recommend this product anymore. The only think that I will say is it does have a very strong smell that will fill any room basically as soon as the lid is taken off. So I think it is polite to try and not use this around other people!

Maybelline 3 For 2

Maybelline 3 For 2

How does Boots manage to suck me in with there offers everytime?! Although saying that I think that I remained pretty controlled only coming back with 3 products! So I thought I would write a little post partly to share with you what I bought and partly to justify my purchases to myself!

I went over to the Maybelline counter as I wanted to pick up a repurchase of my dream fresh BB cream which I have been using for years now. I'm not going to talk about it very much as I think it is going to be coming up again very soon in a blogpost. But it is a very good BB cream for a very good price.

Drawn in by the 3 for 2 offer on all Maybelline products I start to have a little look around the eyeshadows when this one caught my eye as a shade I have been looking for for a long time now. One of my most used everyday eyeshadow palettes is the MUA undressed palette. And there is one shade in particular which I find myself reaching for nearly everyday (as can be seen in the photo below!). I really wanted to find a single version of this colour so that I could just have the single colour on it's own making it easier to carry around.

I can't get enough of Shade 3 in the MUA Undressed palette

This is the best picture I could get comparing the two colours, and while they aren't identical I think that they are very similar. The Maybelline shadow is slightly lighter but looks so pretty and natural on my lids. So far I'm very impressed.

And the final thing that I picked up was this beautiful lipgloss in the shade 550 Gleaming Grenadine. I already have the shade Cashmere Rose and I love it so much. It's been my favourite lipgloss since I bought it and I love how the texture isn't sticky but really moisturising. I picked up this beautiful red shade as I always want to try and wear a red lipstick out but I am always too scared. I thought that this slightly sheerer lipgloss would help me on my way to getting over my fears. I have tried this a few times and I just think it is absolutely beautiful. It's a beautiful letter box shade of red that I think will look perfect as it start to get a little colder and especially around Christmas time.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these 3 products and what you though of them. Speak soon xx
