Perfect Pair - Two New Cream Eyeshadows

Perfect Pair - Two New Cream Eyeshadows

Katherine Penney Chic Cream Eyeshadows Perfect Pair Drugstore Makeup Beauty Review

I bought these two products nearly a month ago now and there have only been a couple of days since then where I have reached for anything else. So I thought it was about time that I shared them with you!

They are both creme eyeshadows, both under £10 and both a natural bronzey brown shade. But their texture and appearance on the eyelids is very different.

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo Leather Effect - Creamy Beige
This is a new edition to the original 24hr colour tattoos which I really loved but these are the matte version. Creamy Beige is a really natural shade that is perfect for everyday. It's so easy to blend on with your fingers really quickly which is something that I love about cream eyeshadows. While this colour looks lovely on it's own what I use it for more often is as a base products. I use a little bit all over my eyelids to get rid of any veins and for a perfect even base for any other products that I apply.

MaXfactor Excess Shimmer - Copper
I had heard several people talking about this on other blogs and YouTube and thought that it looks so pretty and exactly the kind of thing that I would love. And I was right! I'm not sure that I would describe this shade as copper, personally I think it is more of a bronze and is very shimmery and pretty. I apply this with my finger as well but this is more creamy than Maybelline Creamy Beige. This one also appears almost like a wet shimmer on the eyes, which I don't have anything else like and I really love.

These two cream eyeshadows are pretty different but my favourite thing to do is to wear these together. I apply the Maybelline cream shadow first to act as a base colour all over the lid, and then use MaXfactor Copper on top to add the beautiful wet look shimmer. They still look so natural together and are just perfect for everyday but the shimmer adds a little bit extra like you have put a bit more effort into your makeup. Either I will just wear these two on their own with a little bit of mascara or I will use a matte brown eyeshadow in the crease for extra definition and to blend everything out.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried either of these products and what you thought of them. Or even if you have tried them together! And if you haven't then I really recommend trying both of them as they look and feel a lot more expensive than they really are.
Lots of love xx

Maxfactor Face Infinity Primer

Maxfactor Face Infinity Primer

Katherine Penney Chic Maxfactor Primer SPF

I picked this up a while back in the huge Boots haul that I did. I saw it and remembered Amelia Liana saying this was a dupe for I think a Giorgio Armani primer. This one is a really decent size bottle for around £10 and it also has SPF 20 which for me is really important.

Since I bought this I've actually been wearing it most days. I find that it really smooths out my skin and feels really luxurious and silky. It makes any makeup that I put on top feel a lot more flawless and helps it stay in place for most of the day. Overall I think that this is a really great daytime primer, especially for this time of year when skin can be feeling a little dull and dry. This just adds a nice healthy boost and glow to that face and is still protecting you from the sun.

What I will say is that this is best worn during the day. For the evening and going out the SPF could cause flash back and you probably want something more long lasting and less silky. But for a high street everyday SPF primer Maxfactor's offering is a really good one that I definitely recommend.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas xx

MaXfactor Lipstick Review

MaXfactor Lipstick Review

So far this year I have been a lot more into lipsticks. I used to only really used lip balm as I'm not a big lipgloss fan, makes my lips feel really sticky. I bought Chilli 853 the dark red colour before Christmas when I was looking for a nice wintery red. This one caught my eye not only because of the very smart packaging but also because of the beautiful deep red shade with very fine gold shimmer running though. For someone who is pretty new to lipstick this was bold but I had never seen a colour like it and I knew I needed it. I wore this a lot throughout winter and even chose to wear it on Christmas day. It looks lovely with fresh dewy skin and loads of mascara and also with a golden bronze smokey eye for something more dramatic.

]The formula of this lipstick is amazing as well. The other weekend I wore it in a dance show and it between I was drinking so much water. And when I went to the bathroom at the end of the show it was as if I had just applied it.

So when I was in Boots at the beginning of the year and I saw this beautiful coral colour, Pink Brandy 825 I feel in love straight away. I know it is early but I already have a lift of clothes and makeup that I want for summer and this lipstick is just perfect. The colour is so fresh and easy to wear and I can't wait to pair it with a white floaty top and denim jeans when Spring finally comes.

And there is also a beautiful glittery bronze colour that I now have my eye on. Better start saving up those Boots points!

MaXfactor Meteorite Mini Nail Polish

MaXfactor Meteorite Mini Nail Polish

I bought this nail polish with a lipstick on a buy one get one half price in Boots. I know, I'm a total sucker for a bargain. The last thing I needed was another nail polish to add to my ever growing collection, but this colour really caught my eye. It's a metallic navy colour with very fine silver glitter in. And I know that party season and New Years Eve is long gone but I'm still suck in this glitter, stars and sequin phase!

This is the first time I think that I have bought and tried a MaXfactor nail polish and I was pretty impressed. The texture was nice and the colour was thick but I used two coats to get it really opaque. And the colour is just beautiful and looks lovely when the light reflects on it. I'm still a total Essie girl at heart, but for the £2 on offer this is a total bargain. And can we please just talk about the adorable varnish name, Meteorite and the tiny little bottle...aww!

Also please excuse faintly blue hands, central heating is still not allowed to be turned on and I have bad circulation! At least it matches the nail polish, right?!
