My First KIKO Product

My first KIKO Product

thumb_IMG_2379_1024

It's crazy that I am obsessed with beauty and makeup yet this is the first time that I have ever tried anything from KIKO! It's a brand that I had heard so many good things about but is quite hard to get hold of unless you happen to be passing a KIKO store. And the other week I did, although I only had about 5 minutes before a meeting. But being the experienced shopping that I am I still managed to have a good old browse and pick something up!

The product that I just couldn't resist was this beautiful cream eyeshadow in the shade 05. I think this little pot has to be the most glittery shimmery eyeshadow that I own and I love it! The shade itself is quite a neutral bronzy colour, but it is packed with so much pigmented glitter that it just looks really special. It is also really easy to blend and to my surprise there wasn't any fall out.  I have been wearing this the most over a brown smokey eye for the evening for a bit of extra sparkle.

My first impressions of KIKO are very positive and I just wish I had more time to look around the store. But I would love to hear in the comments below what your favourite products from KIKO are or if you can point me in the direction of any other blogposts.

Winter Bobble Hat And Glitter

Winter Bobble Hat And Glitter

Today I wanted to share with you my beautiful new bobble hat that I am literally obsessed with and I though why not style it into an outfit. I saw this hat in Accessorize while in Durham with my boyfriend and fell in love with it. I love the colours, the texture and the massive pom pom on the top. It's different to a plain coloured bobble hat but I can still be styled with so many things. So this is just the outfit that I have been wearing a lot recently as it has suddenly got so much colder in Manchester!

I was feeling very Christmasy when I put this together to there is quite a bit of glitter going on! You might not be ale to see but the hat has little dark blue sequins all over it. This jumper is also a bit sparkly and so cute for Christmas. And of course I had to have my favourite glitter nail polish!

I'm in love with both these necklaces that I got from H&M a while back. They came as a pair but they aren't joined which is great as I can wear them together or on their own. And I think they were something like £4!

Essie Shearling Darling and Rimmel Glitter Bomb Top Coat

Essie Shearling Darling and Rimmel Glitter Bomb Top Coat

Katherine Penney Chic essie shearling darling rimmel glitter nail polish

After the Christmas lights turn on and a day spent wondering around the Manchester Christmas markets I am starting to feel super festive! So when it came to painting my nails a few days ago I decided to go for something a little Christmassy!

Both the nail polishes that I chose are new to me so I really wanted to share with you what I thought of them. The first is Essie's Shearling Darling polish which is a really sophisticated dark red/maroon and perfect for this time of year. Like pretty much all of the Essie nail polishes that I have tried it is amazing quality and a lovely thick brush. For top coat I chose the Rimmel glitter bomb top coat in Disco Diva because I am a sucker for anything sparkly! Especially at this time of year! It's fine silver glitter with larger pink glitter and look just beautiful when it catches the light. And I found that over a colour one coat of this is perfect.

I really love this combination of polishes but to be honestly I think that this glitter top coat would look great over a lot of colours and I can't wait to try it over other shades!

Hope you are all well. Exactly one month until Christmas now! :D xx

MaXfactor Meteorite Mini Nail Polish

MaXfactor Meteorite Mini Nail Polish

I bought this nail polish with a lipstick on a buy one get one half price in Boots. I know, I'm a total sucker for a bargain. The last thing I needed was another nail polish to add to my ever growing collection, but this colour really caught my eye. It's a metallic navy colour with very fine silver glitter in. And I know that party season and New Years Eve is long gone but I'm still suck in this glitter, stars and sequin phase!

This is the first time I think that I have bought and tried a MaXfactor nail polish and I was pretty impressed. The texture was nice and the colour was thick but I used two coats to get it really opaque. And the colour is just beautiful and looks lovely when the light reflects on it. I'm still a total Essie girl at heart, but for the £2 on offer this is a total bargain. And can we please just talk about the adorable varnish name, Meteorite and the tiny little bottle...aww!

Also please excuse faintly blue hands, central heating is still not allowed to be turned on and I have bad circulation! At least it matches the nail polish, right?!

Eyeshadow Obsessive

Eyeshadow  Obsessive

The other day I was sorting though all my makeup, having a bit of a clear out of all the old stuff when I realised I have a bit of a problem. I'm a total nude eyeshadow hoarder. I think I just buy them because they look beautiful! And the sad thing is that I never actually wear half of these. I have some really beautiful colours here and even though the new year has started and I have already made my resolutions I'm going to have to add a new one on.

So this is my pledge to start trying out more of there many eye shadows, particularly the greys and the golden shades. I have to start being a bit more experimental with my make up, I'm only 17 and I've already got into the habit of wearing basically the same make up everyday. Concealer, powder, bit of brown eyeshadow, pencil in my brows, mascara and some vasaline. I blame school and lack of time in the morning for that! And I know what you are thinking, wearing a few different shades of nude eyeshadow is hardly very experimental. But for me it's a step in the right direction. You never know, by summer I could be rocking a bright lip!

Rimmel London Space Dust Review

Rimmel London Space Dust Review

I bought the golden pink colour, Aurora  from Boot on a 3 for 2 offer at the beginning of November. It looked pretty and as it was nearing Christmas I was having a bit of a glitter moment. I only expected it to be a thin glitter top coat nail polish so when I used it I was pretty amazed at how thick it was. I can't think of another nail polish to compare this to as I have never used anything with this texture. Its so glittery and thick so basically one coat and you're good to go. And it dries to a rough and almost 3D so you don't need to use a top coat and mine lasted several days without chipping at all too.

So after I was so impressed by this product I went out to buy the silver shade, Shooting star and the black/green, Total eclipse. How pretty are the nail polish names? They all absolutely gorgeous and by far the best glitter nail polish that I have used. The only thing that I will say is that you do have to have a bit of patience when it comes to removing them. I recommend that you hold a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover on the nail before rubbing it off. But it is totally worth it for how beautiful they look and how many compliments I get when wearing this polish.

There is also a hot pink, Luna Love and a purple shade, Moon walking in the collection. And for only £3.99 each you can't really go wrong. And now I feel like I should buy the final two just to complete my collection...
