Mint Velvet Leopard Print

It feels like Autumn is still just beginning as the sun is still shining and people are still walking around in t-shirts. But Autumn clothing has been trickling into stores since August which means that some brands are already having sales. When I was in town last week I spotted that Mint Velvet were already having a mid-season sale so I though that I would have a little browse. I spotted this leopard print jumper and thought it was a bit bold, but that I would try it on while my mum and auntie were also trying some clothes one. Long story short, I love it! It's cool and fun, but think the monochromatic colourway softens the look. I chose to size up by two sizes as I wanted the jumper to be a bit slouchy and oversized, so I can roll the sleeves up and do a "half-tuck" into jeans.

STYLING
As this is a fairly bold jumper I would keep the rest of my outfit really simple. I think blue or black denim jeans and black boots and some very delicate jewellery would work perfectly. But I would also like to try and style this with a white shirt underneath for a modern street style look. Or with a black midi skirt and some white trainers.

Mint Velvet Navy Leopard Jacquard Knit

Having a little browse in Mint Velvet inspired me to have a look online and see what else had gone into sale. There are some lovely pieces, including the khaki shacket that I am still obsessed with which you can read all about here. So I thought I would also share with you some of my other favourite sale picks.

Oatmeal Luxe Faux Fur Jacket

Black Fringe High Sandal

Dove Belted Tapered Trouser

Ivory Stripe Shirt

The Basics Wishlist

As I spent today bagging up my Summer clothes and bringing my Winter wardrobe down from the attic I thought it would be the perfect time to have a little look at what is new in for this season. In a bid to make smarter purchases I am trying to invest in things that are considered part of a "Capsule Wardrobe" and are timeless in terms of both style and quality. I have managed to keep my ever-growing wishlist to just four items that I am loving for A/W 18/19. Most of these are more on the expensive side, but maybe if I start saving and wait for the sales...

1. Massimo Dutti Check Wool Blazer - here

2. The Kooples Emily Small Faux Python Bag in Black - here

3. & Other Stories Alpaca Blend Sweater in Oatmeal - here

4. Jigsaw Boucle Tweed Coat in Navy - here

Katherine Penney Chic April Wishlist High street Fashion Style Life

As procrastination from coursework I have done quite a bit of browsing the internet, saving lots of things to my favourites and making lots of list of clothes, shoes, accessories and other random bits that I have my eye on. So I thought that I would make a wishlist of the things that I am really wishing for at the moment. And I have finally persuaded my mum to take me shopping tomorrow morning, I'm just desperate to have a look around Zara, Mango and River Island (my favourite shops right now!). So you never know, maybe tomorrow one or two of these things may be mine.

Light Washed Denim Shirt - Zara
VOSS Still Water Plastic Bottle - Ebay
Rose Gold Eye Brush Set - Zoeva
MaXfactor Cream Puff Blush in Lovely Pink - Boots
Pink Leather Tassel Loafer - River Island
Cream Ripped Denim Shorts - River Island
Mirror Clutch Bag - Accessorize

Cinderella Inspired Wishlist

Cinderella Inspired Wishlist

As many of you may know the new Disney Cinderella film starring Lily James will be in cinema very soon. Personally I haven't been so excited about a film in such a long time! I don't even want to think about how many times I have watched the trailer - I could probably quote most of it! The film is to be a mix of a fairytale, romance and a feel good family film, which sounds ideal to me.

So today, the day after the London premier of Cinderella I wanted to do a little Cinderella inspired wishlist of my favourite high street pieces.

Sorry, that I haven't been around much for the last few days. I was really busy with university stuff. But now I am back home for Easter so I should have a bit more time and I have been planning a few different posts for you all. Lots of love xx

Maxfactor Face Infinity Primer

Maxfactor Face Infinity Primer

Katherine Penney Chic Maxfactor Primer SPF

I picked this up a while back in the huge Boots haul that I did. I saw it and remembered Amelia Liana saying this was a dupe for I think a Giorgio Armani primer. This one is a really decent size bottle for around £10 and it also has SPF 20 which for me is really important.

Since I bought this I've actually been wearing it most days. I find that it really smooths out my skin and feels really luxurious and silky. It makes any makeup that I put on top feel a lot more flawless and helps it stay in place for most of the day. Overall I think that this is a really great daytime primer, especially for this time of year when skin can be feeling a little dull and dry. This just adds a nice healthy boost and glow to that face and is still protecting you from the sun.

What I will say is that this is best worn during the day. For the evening and going out the SPF could cause flash back and you probably want something more long lasting and less silky. But for a high street everyday SPF primer Maxfactor's offering is a really good one that I definitely recommend.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to Christmas xx

Party season is nearly upon us which means it's time to start thinking about what to wear for all these Christmassy evenings! So above are just a few of my favourite pieces on the highstreet for this party season. It's pretty and pastel with quite a bit of glitter (no surprises there!). H&M Jewellery Haul

H&M Jewellery Haul

For quite a long time now H&M has been one of my all time favourite places to shop for clothes. They are such a reasonable price and I just always find something that I love, particularly the jumpers and the jeans department. However however I'd never really ventured into the accessories section of the store before. Accessorize has always been my number one place to shop for accessories and once I've been there I didn't really need to go anywhere else. And from afar a lot of the jewellery in H&M reminded me quite a bit of the jewellery in Primark; large chunky and fairly cheap looking pieces. Whereas I prefer delicate simple pieces that I hope look more expensive that what I actually paid!

However while in H&M shopping for some black leggings the other day I took a little wonder into the jewellery section. And even though at first I came across the type of jewellery that I expected to find after a little searching I managed to find a few things that I love. I think it is fair to say that quite a bit of the jewellery that first spotted where big statement (and fairly cheap looking) pieces, particularly the necklaces and bracelets. But I did manage to spot this very simple gold V-shaped necklace which I love. I usually wear a lot of silver jewellery but for some reason as we are moving into Autumn I am constantly wanting to wear gold. I think this piece looks really modern and classy and I like to wear it with a simple white V-neck jumper.

The other things that I picked up were these rings which came together in a pack for about £3 which is insane! I don't think I will ever wear then all together like I have in this photo but at the moment I love wearing a bit of a mix of normal and midi rings. I like how in this pack there is a mix of gold and silver and a mix of shapes and sizes. I also think the silver branch one is just beautiful and such a unique design.

So if like me you hadn't before then I would recommend having a little look in the jewellery section on your next trip to H&M. You might find a few little treasures! Let me know what you think of my finds or what you think of H&M jewellery in the comments below. xx
