I Bought Another Jacket...

I will be the first person to hold my hands up and say that I have an issue, I cannot stop buying jackets. It is approximately 100 degrees outside and Winter fashion, specifically coats and jackets, is on my mind. Don't get me wrong, I love bohemian Summer dressing, lace and lots of pastels, but nothing beats a good quality jacket that you can shove on over jeans and a white t-shirt and be done. Plus here in the UK it is usually an item that you'll get your money's worth from! Although as I am typing this with my hair in a topknot and fan on full-blast the only thing I really want to be wearing is a bikini (preferably sitting by a pool).

The bomber jacket is from a brand called Part Two which I saw in a local boutique shop and then found on House of Fraser. Part Two is a brand that I haven't come across before, but if this jacket is anything to go by I think I should probably check out some of their other pieces. It's a beautiful bottle green shade in an intricate quilted design, with a slight sheen to the fabric. It has gold hardware and a lovely floral lining that reminds me a bit of  Ted Baker. The jacket also feels heavy which I like to think indicates good quality. And on top of all that I got it for about a third of the original price in the House of Fraser sale!

I can't see myself wearing this anytime soon with the weather at the moment. Although knowing UK weather it will probably feel like Winter as soon as we get to August! But I can't wait to style this up with jeans and boots, or cropped trousers and trainers for Autumn. So watch this space!

All Saints Leather Jacket

As some of you may or may not know, this month I finally turned 21! This is all kinds of crazy as I still get asked for ID when buying paracetamol (you need to be 16)! I had such a lovely day with my family, dog walking and then a pub lunch. And then in the evening we met up with my boyfriend Jack for a lovely meal at the National Portrait Gallery Restaurant followed by Matilda at the West end which was just incredible!

This year I was totally spoiled by all of my friends and family who got me some incredibly generous gifts. But I thought I would kick things off with a quick post about the very special gift that I received from my parents. I know that watches tend to be the gift of choice for a big birthday like a 21st. But I got a beautiful watch for my 18th and I already had a few others, so while I knew I didn't want a watch I did want something timeless.

After a trip my first ever trip Bicester Village with my best friend I stumbled into All Saints. I don't usually shop at All Saints, it's a little above my budget! But when we were in Bicester Village surrounded by Prada and Gucci, All Saints suddenly felt like a more affordable option. You don't have to study fashion to know that All Saints are pretty well known for their leather jackets, so when I walked in I was immediately drawn to the wall of leather jackets...and this one in particular!

For a girl who spends 95% of the time wearing neutrals (probably 80% monochrome!), this was a pretty bold choice. But the burgundy shade just drew me in and made me fall in love. And I actually think it is my majority neutral wardrobe which means I am going to get so much wear our of this jacket. The leather is butter soft, the colour looks great with my dark hair and the fit is perfect, big enough that I could wear a jumper under it without being too boxy. As it was from Bicester Village it was around 50%, and then when I got to the till I found it was £50 cheaper than I originally thought! Isn't that the best feeling?!

I'm so excited to wear this jacket  when the weather starts to get a little cooler. And even though this is the most expensive thing I have in my wardrobe, I believe that leather jackets get better with age and wear, so the price tag isn't going to put me off wearing this. And as much for my benefit that anyone else, I have put together a little "Burgundy Leather Jacket Inspo Board"!

I can't wait to share with you all of the other amazing presents that I got for my birthday in a post coming soon!

Jacket of Dreams

Jacket of Dreams

More frequently, probably due to the tremendous amount of fashion magazines and blogs that I read, I have an item that I am wishing for stuck in my head. It's probably based on a designer item I have seen that I am trying to find a dupe of for a fraction of the price. But either way having an image of the "perfect" item stuck in my head makes be incredibly fussy. I've probably already decided the colour, fabric and length, basically exactly how the piece should be, and how it should look on me! And usually it can take years to find! Does anyone else have this problem of is it just me!?

Going into each new season I usually have a little mental list of items that I want to buy into. Right now for example I'm on the hunt for a pair of grey wool shorts, some brown leather ankle boots and a printed silk square scarf. But a piece that have been on my list for years (no exaggeration) was a beige aviator jacket. Basically the ACNE STUDIOS one, but without the £2000 price tag! And every year when coat season came around I would search in every store for my dream jacket.

That was until Zara! Beside from being my favourite shop just for all clothing (although particularly Winter I find), Zara are amazing at creating dupes for designer pieces, something in just a couple of weeks after they have been on the Catwalk.

After the most amazing trip to London Fashion Weekend with my mum we decided to pop into the beautiful Zara in Sloane Square just to have a little browse around. And it really is such a beautiful store that I really recommend! When I first walked in I started spotting a couple of aviator jackets. The first was in a lovely light grey however it was longer that I was looking for. The second was small and thin and in an orangey beige...and the third was perfect.

And they had one left in my size! So I tried it on straight away and it fit like a shearling lined, super cosy glove. The price tag was a little high (although nothing compared to the £2000 ACNE one!), so obviously I completely forgot the fact that I DO NOT need another Winter coat/jacket and bought it! Zara also have this amazing way of changing their stock almost completely every couple of weeks so that if you see something you buy it straight away as you don't know if it will even be on sale in a weeks time!

I've managed to find the exact jacket on the Zara website incase you also want to treat yourself to something snuggly for Winter as well!

Suede Effect and Fleecy Jacket

So here I am, with the jacket of my dreams. Just hoping the weather gets very cold, very soon. Recently I've actually been hanging it on the back of my cupboard so that I can admire it just before I go to bed! Sad, I know! But in a way I feel proud and like it is a huge accomplishment that I have finally found something that I have been dreaming up for years!

Maybe I need to get out more...or just go back to Zara and see if they have anymore dreamy items in store that I need for Winter!

I can't actually take the credit for finding this jacket, while I was on holiday in Spain my mum spotted this one. And when I got home and I saw it on my bed it was the best surprise, she knows my style very well! But I was so surprised when I read the label and saw where she had found the jacket; in Sainsbury's! Yes, my mum found the gorgeous jacket while doing our weekly food shop!

I have loved styling this outfit in lots of different outfits, so I might do a blog post soon showing some different looks and ways I like to wear this jacket. My favourite way to wear this jacket is how I have shown it in the pictures. With a simple silky white top and a delicate necklace and then a pair of dark skinny jeans. I think keeping this look really simple lets the jacket take the spotlight in the outfit and makes it look more expensive.

And it would seen that it's not just pastel pink jackets that I am loving right now! I also recently picked up these beautiful jeans that have a slight leather effect from the Mango sale...but they weren't the only thing I bought from Mango so I'm saving that for a separate post that is coming up soon. So keep an eye out for that. And in the meantime I recommend you have a look at the Mango sale as they have some great bargains! xx

The Perfect Fur Gilet? Opinions Please

The Perfect Fur Gilet? Opinions Please

I've spent so many winters looking for the perfect fur gilet but I've never been able to find one that matches the one that I have in my head. I want the fur gilet to be a lightish brown, long enough to cover part of my bum, to have pockets but no other details, fringing, embellishment or a collar and to be reasonable prices. So when I saw this one for only £40 from Zara I did a little celebratory dance and ordered it straight away.

Two days later (I know, I'm impressed!) it arrived beautiful packaged. I think because I'd thought I'd finally found my perfect fur gilet I had very high expectation for how this would look. So when I tried it on I was slightly shocked about the fit. In most clothes I'm a size 8 or a small and normally in jumpers and outwear which I like to be a little bigger so I can layer up I get the size above. However I ordered this in a small thinking this would be the perfect size and to me it comes across as a little too big. I don't know if this is meant to be the style of the fur gilet or not though.

So I'm asking for all your opinions on whether you think this is the style and I should keep it or if it just looks a bit shapeless and I should send it back. I did check on the website for a size small but sadly this is the smallest size that they do. I'm so torn as part of me thinks in the winter I will want it slightly bigger to wear with jumpers and scarves (note I'm only wearing it with a thin top in the pictures) and another part of me thinks that my body just looks a bit lost under this and it doesn't flatter my body shape. But then I've also spent years looking for a fur gilet and this is by far the closest that I have ever come to finding the perfect one. I don't know where else to look sticking to my price range with is probably £70 at most. So I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to leave me a quick comment saying whether you think I should keep it or not. Or also if you know where I might be able to find another one like this then that would be amazing too.
Thank you xx
