New Hair For The New Season
For ages now I have wanted to do something a little different with my hair. I am very lucky in that I have naturally pretty thick long brown hair that is usually straight but holds a curl easily. But whenever I go to hair hairdressers for the past few years I have always asked for the same thing, about an inch off the length with he layers but back in.
This time I still had a trim just to keep my ends healthy as I have decided I want to try a grow my hair a little longer. But I also had some colour and highlights put in. I still wanted my hair to look really natural but like I had been on holiday and it had been bleached a bit in the sun.
I went for something called balayage which is gradual and natural looking highlights, meant to mimic that sunkissed hair look. I have a few very subtle highlights at the top to add some definition to my natural colour and then towards the length of the hair I have some much lighter highlights. The overall look is still very natural though.
As it was my first time ever dying my hair I didn't want anything to dramatic, so I am really happy with the way that this has turned out. Next time I might decide to get some more lighter highlights of even more of an ombre effect.
Here I have quickly curled my hair using my Babyliss curlers and I love how the curls show off the highlights even more. Hope you like this little post. My best friend who I haven't seen for over 3 months got back from America yesterday! This morning we went out for a lovely brunch with our other friend and this afternoon we are probably going to do some baking and then have a girlie sleepover with a chick flick and stuff our faces with whatever we decide to bake!
