Si

Isn't it the best feeling ever when you treat yourself to something that you have been saving up for for ages!? And ever better when you manage to grab it on sale! Perfume and scent is something that I have been getting for and more into as I get older. And I've definitely come along way since the days of Charlie Red body spray!

I do know I am quite fussy with scents though, and I can't perfume shop for very long as I get a head ache and everything starts to smell the same. But I had a little sniff of this over a year ago now and fell in love. And since then it has been playing on my mind as something I wanted to save up my boots points for. So once I had enough points and the gift set came into sale after Christmas I treated myself. And boy, is this luxurious perfume a treat!

I'm not going to pretend that I know the first thing about scents and how to describe them. And as much as I would love to, I am definietly not one of those people who can pick out ingredients from a single sniff. However, I have done a little bit of research which I thought that I would share with you.

Si is described under the family of chypre scents, which are warm and dry. These scents are often built around a woody, mossy base with stronger hints of flowers or fruit. This one is more floral with notes of neroli, jasmine and rose. To me this is more of a warm Winter scent, it's inviting and uplifting and is beautiful and feminine without being too sickly sweet.

And if you're an expert here are the notes below...

Top notes: Sicilian Bergamot, Mandarin Oil, Liquer de Cassis
Heart notes: Rose de Mai Absolute, Neroli Absolute, Egyptian Jasmine Absolute
Base notes: Patchouli Oil, Blond Woods, Amber, Orcanoxâ„¢, Vanille Absolute

Sometimes it's nice to save up and treat yourself to a little bit of luxury. And I would definietly recommend saving up all of your Boots points for something special rather than spending it on little bits and pieces here and there. I've already started saving up for something else, although I have no idea what it will be yet. Possibly a Chanel lipstick!

Daisy Dream By Marc Jacobs

 Daisy Dream By Marc Jacobs

I think considering that I have been to an airport four times in the last two weeks and this was my only duty free purchase is pretty good! Although saying that it was partly because after this there wasn't much money left in my purse for anymore shopping! I've been needing a new perfume for a while now. I think about 2/3 years ago for my birthday and then Christmas I got three perfumes. They were a Hollister one, a Ghost one and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I loved the Ghost one and that became my everyday perfume so when it started to get very low I was gutted to find out that it had been discontinued. Daisy was my favourite and I tried to save it for evenings and special occasions but even so I probably have about 5 uses left of that one too.

I tried to go perfume shopping several times but I really hated it. I had no idea what I was looking for or what would suit me and there is so much choice out there that I jsut felt overwhelmed. And after about 15 minutes of smelling loads of different perfumes I started to get a bit of a headache and all the smells started blending into one and I couldn't tell the difference anyway!

I had heard that Marc Jacobs was bring out a new Daisy perfume and I couldn't wait to give it a sniff. So as soon as I saw it in duty free on my way to Spain I smelt it and new that it was the one, so I grabbed it and the rest is history.

Firstly I think that the perfume bottle is the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. For me the look of the perfume is just as important as the smell. If I'm going to have my perfume on display in my bedroom then I need to love it. If I were to try and describe the smell then I would say that it is light, fresh and floral. It's just a really feminine smell that isn't too overpowering or offensive.

I'm so happy with this purchase and even more happy that I found it in duty free because this doesn't actually come out until August! So if you are in the market for a new perfume and this sounds like your kind of scent then I would definitely recommend checking this one out. I picked this 100ml bottle up for £56 at duty free so it may be slightly more expensive elsewhere.

The Body Shop Bargains

The Body Shop Bargains

I had been meaning to get a new light moisturiser for a while and after hearing a lot of good things about the Body Shop's Vitamin E moisturing cream and never having tried anything from the Body Shop skin care range before I decided it was time to give it a go. It just so happened that when I arrived the body shop last week they were having huge sales! So the bargain hunter in me decided that it was much better value to buy this pack of the skin care set containing the moisturiser I wanted from the Vitamin E range for only £18.

At the same time I was also told that my Body Shop card was running out so I also repurchased that for £5 and received this free Jasmine Blossom perfume which I am in love with. It's basically Spring in a bottle! The Body Shop card in not as good as a Boots card in my opinion, but it does offer 10% off everything you buy and free gifts worth between £5 and £10 when you spend certain amounts so if you shop at The Body Shop often then I would recommend it.

If you read my last post on my updated skin care rountine not to long ago then you might be wondering why I am already changing up my skin rountine after saying I was happy with it. I a my Clinique facial products as they are really good at clearing up my skin. What makes them so good is that they are quite strong and drying and over the last few days it has been a little too drying, hence the need for a good moisturiser. I'm also one of those people that wants to try something as soon as a buy it so for the last few days I have been doing my regular skincare routine in the morning but using these new Body Shop products in the evening.

And I am really pleased with the results so far. The Body Shop collection smells lovely and the Clinique products are still keeping my skin clear but I have also noticed how glowing and healthy looking my skin is as well. At the moments I am really loving using these combinations of products on my skin. But I am slowing becoming one of those people who likes to change things up more often, and I'm still on the hunt for that wonder product so I'm just not saying this combination will last forever. Hope you enjoyed this honest post and let me know in the comments below is you have any skin care product recommendations for me, I'd love to hear them. xx
