Quick Routine For A Dinner Out

Dinner Wearing Revol Colourburst Lacquer Balm in Enticing 

On Wednesday I went out for dinner with the girls to celebrate my friends birthday. I'd had got back from my tutorial pretty late and didn't have very long at all to get ready. So I thought I would write a quick post to tell you how I take my look from day to night in a short space of time. 

The first think that I did was brush my hair, spray a little bit of dry shampoo for some volume and shove my hair up into a messy ponytail. It looks so chic and effortless and takes less than a minute. The next think I did was redo my concealer, and put on a little bit more mascara to wake my eyes up again. I kept the same outfit that I was wearing during the day but swapped my handbag for a little black clutch and my converse for some heeled black boots. But the main think I wanted to talk about was the lip product that I grabbed to complete my look. 

I did a huge Boots haul earlier this week which you will know about if you follow me on instagram where I went a little crazy with the 3 for 2 on all makeup brands. One of the things that I picked up was a Revlon Colourbrust Lacquer Blam in the shade Enticing. I tried these before when they first came out and really loved to nude colour that I got. And when I saw this beautiful christmassy red I couldn't not put it in my basket! I think is a perfect red shade for me but would probably suit most people too. It's supeer moisturising and glossy and has a little bit of a gold shimmer which I think looks gorgeous. And what I was mosst impressed about was the staying power. Even though it's glossy it stains your lips as well. So even after a while when the shine starts to go the colour is still there. I managed to eat dough balls, pizza and choclate cake with it on! 

So if you are looking for an inexpensive glossing red lip colour for the coming party season then this is the one that I would really recommend. Or even just something to put on before you head out do dinner when you don't have much time to get ready.

Today In Pictures - 11/11/2014

Today wasn't overly excited but I wanted to share with you what I got up to. Hope you guys have all had a good day too. And Happy Remembrance day. We shall not forget <3

On Tuesdays I don't have any university stuff on so I basically have a day off. Although I have spent most of today working on my project for Friday! But I allowed myself a really great lie in until 10am which was amazing!

I got an email today saying that I had received a parcel which I just expected to be some books that I had ordered for my course. But when I opened this I found this amazing box filled with loads of yummy food, a couple of photos and a letter from my boyfriend Jack! It was just the best surprise ever and such a sweet and thoughtful gift. 

Around midday I went to the shops to pick up some milk and ended up in Superdrug where there was 3 for 2 on everything! And this was the result! All of these products I heard quite a bit about and I really can't wait to try them. 

You can't really see in the photo but today I wore this really pretty jumper that I got a while ago from Primark. It got lots of little sequins on and it made me feel really Christmassy!

Such a great fish pie for lunch. So nice eating this when it was cold outside.

I know that sadly Gossip Girl finished a while ago but the other day I saw a post on Tumblr with a gif of Blair Waldorf and it just reminded me how much I loved her in Gossip Girl. She's independent, funny, smart and she dresses well and I thought it would make a great post to write about some of the things we can learn from her. And hopefully we can all relive Gossip Girl for a little bit, because honestly I really miss it!

Her Style

• Headbands! - doesn't really need to be said. I don't wear a lot of headbands but they always look great on her and I really want to try them now. And any other cute girlie hair accessories such as clips and hair bows will also work perfectly. 
• Her style is preppy, classy and feminine - she loves shirt, bows, shirts with bows, dresses and skirts and hardly ever wears jeans.  
• A pop of colour - she always add a pop of colour somewhere in an outfit. Whether it's a handbag, a bright pair of tights and scarf or a headband. 
• Don't be afraid to clash prints - Blair is definitely not scared of clashing colours or prints. Does anyone else remember that amazing skirt and top combination she wore in the episode in Paris?! But when you clash prints try to pick up a colour somewhere. 
• Find the perfect key pieces - Like a lot of other women Blair is reliant on the classics in her wardrobe. For her this is a fitted blazer, white blouse, classic pencil skirt, pretty clutches and lots and lots of tights!
• Keep makeup simple - Blair doesn't go overboard with makeup and always like to keep it simple and pretty. She wouldn't want people to know that she was wearing fake eyelashes!

How to act like Blair

• Act confident even if your not feeling it 
• Stay calm and composed - it will give you the upper hand 
• Try and have great comebacks - Blair always has something sharp and witty to say to put people in their place
• If someone is annoying you or your mad at them let them know - you don't want them walking all over you again. Let them know how your feeling but maybe in a more polite way than Blair does! 
• Work hard - make a name for yourself and don't let anyone else push you around. 

And if in doubt just think "What would Blair Waldorf do?"

Collars, Curls and Cable knits 

Another really short post today so sorry. I've been so busy this last week and have had a couple of issues regarding uni. One of them being that I didn't follow a brief properly and found out a few days ago that everything I had done for a project so far was wrong. So this weekend I have been starting my project from the beginning while trying not to panic as it is in for Friday! Silly me!

Anyway, these photos where taken a few days ago but I wanted to share them with you as I have been wearing this outfit so much lately. While I was in the Peak District with my family I found this top with this beautiful lace collar in a charity shop for £4. Sadly I don't really like the top that much on it's own as it has gone a little faded and baggy, but under a jumper, especially this grey cable knit I'm wearing I think it looks so cute. And it great to add another layer when it is suddenly starting to get a lot colder! This day I also had some loose waves in my hair (probably left over from the night before!) but this is my favourite way to wear my hair. Just wish it looked like this naturally!
