Magali Pascal

If you have a style that is at all similar to mine then this is a store that you need to know about. Magali Pascal is a brand that I first found on Instagram, probably through one of the many bloggers that I follow, but I just fell in love with their clothes. They are feminine and beautiful with a real bohemian feel about them. And as far as I was concerned a dream that was out of reach, as being based on Australia (quite literally the other side of the world) I didn't ever think I would get to see their clothes.

But as you may know from a recent post Bali was where dreams came true. And while this isn't quite "being hugged by two elephants at once" standard, if you are as obsessed with clothes as I am, this is pretty damn close!

Jack and I were riding (him driving and me clinging on for dear life!) on a scooter to Semiyak when I saw the store and yelled at him to stop. He didn't really understand when I started going on about how it was this brand I followed on Instagram, and that all the bloggers I followed wore it and I never thought I'd get to see a store...but he stopped anyway. As we walked up to the store it was everything I could have imagines, beautiful and classic with greenery growing up the front of the shop. But the most beautiful part of all was the four white letters in the shop window. SALE.

After trying on half of the shop, not being about to decided, and trying most of it on again, I finally settled for two pieces that I am in love with.

The first is this stunning silk cami. I feel in love with the print and the colours and tried on pretty much this whole collection, but this was the piece that I thought I would get the most wear out of. It's feminine and floaty and kind of reminds me of a magical cloud! It's a statement piece in that all you would need is a pair of jeans and some lovely shoes to wear with it. But at the same time it is subtle and just completely my style.

After probably over an hour I finally walked to the till with my silk top, when I spotted a rail that I hadn't properly looked though. As is always the way! I saw this pair of shorts which I thought were lovely and with the help of my mathematical boyfriend worked out that they came to about £15! The quality is amazing and I love the fact that they are short, but still manage to cover the whole of my bum cheeks. And most of all I am obsessed with the cute fringing detail around the pockets.

So even if you aren't going to be hanging around in Australia or Bali anytime soon I would definitely recommend following Magali Pascal on Instagram. Their page is beautiful and great for style inspiration. Check it out here.

Travel Treasures

Travel Treasures

thumb_IMG_3792_1024

Today I really wanted to share some of the beautiful treasures that I picked up on my recent holiday to Marrakech. Marrakech is well known for its amazing souks and hand crafted treasures. Wherever you turned there was something new to look at, and Jack and I had the best time wondering the souks, chatting to the locals and even doing a bit of haggling!

I found the whole trip to Marrakech so inspiring, how humble and happy everyone we spoke to was and the beautiful detail that they put into everything they make. I was just in awe of the stunning interiors of so many of the places that we went, including the riad that we stayed in. For me it was a little like my decor inspiration on Pinterest coming to life! So I was so happy to pick up a few bits to bring back home with me.

One of the things I was desperate to get my hands on was a white pouf. Random? Yes. Necessary? Also yes! I had seen a few of these on Pinterest and Instagram and just love how they look. I could picture it in the corner of my bedroom with a few magazines on top! There were so many places that did beautiful leather poufs, but it was made slightly hard by the fact that I already had an image in my head of exactly what I wanted. We found a place that did a lovely white pouf, but I had to explain that it was a little bigger than what I was looking for. So he took me around the corner to his friends shop where I found exactly what I wanted!

I am so happy with how this looks in my bedroom, it brings a slightly bohemian, Moroccan touch to the bedroom which I love.

If you have been reading my blog for a while or know me personally then you will know that I have a bit of a thing for scraves, particularly Pashminas. There was a point when I probably had about 70 scarves (yes, you have read that correct!). Now, after a big clear out, I probably have a more manageable 20. But that didn't stop me from picking up this beautiful white pashmina. I can picture wearing this when in gets a little colder with some skinny jeans, a little grey knit jumper and some pretty flats.

Another accessory that I couldn't resist was this stunning leather clutch. A lot of the shops in Marrakech sold fairly similar goods, in fact almost identical pieces from shop to shop. But this particular shop sold beautiful leather bags and pouches like nothing I had seen anywhere else. If I had taken more money with me I could have bought everything in this shop, it was my style down to a tea. However when I spotted this grey suede clutch with metallic details and tassel I knew it was the one. I can't wait to wear this on special occasions, but for now it is on display on one of the shelves in my bedroom.

The Moroccan slippers where a bit of a random purchase, and honestly I am not sure how much wear that I will get out of them! But they are so beautiful and intricate and I think that they look lovely displayed on my pouf! I bought these from a lovely man that Jack and I spent a bit of time chatting to so I love the memories behind these too.

And finally I got myself a little jewellery box with mother of pearl detailing that are sold all over Marrakech. I actually already have a larger one of these in my bedroom which I got a few years ago from the stalls in Egypt. But I think these are so pretty and add a lovely bit of detail to a shelf.

This bracelet however is probably the most special piece from the trip, bought for me by my lovely boyfriend. It is just my perfect piece of jewellery, a delicate mix of elegant and slightly bohemian. I also love the back story that goes behind this.

We were looking in a really cool shop that sold vintage cameras and little nic nacks, when the shop keeper said that we must visit his friends place. I am not going to lie, I was a little nervous, particularly as the place that he took us wasn't really a shop. But when we went inside it was just amazing, more like a museum really. It was two floors holding the most beautiful collection of piece from large vases, to mirrors, to costume jewellery and everything inbetween. Every space was taken up with a beautiful treasure, so that it would have taken days just to look at everything properly. The guy told us how it wasn't really a shop but a place that was only really open to collectors.

He encouraged us to pick something out (of course!) however I was worried as I knew we were in somewhere that was way over our budget. We had come on the morning of the last day on our holiday and still need food for the rest of the day and money for the airport. In the end after what I would say was more explaining our financial situation that haggling, we were given this for a very discounted rate!

This piece is just so special to me and will forever remind me of the amazing holiday that we had.

So I hoped that you enjoyed seeing the treasures that I picked up from Marrakech. There is actually one more thing that I bought however I have not put it up yet so I am going to wait until then to share it on here. Hope that you have had a lovely weekend.

Khaki

Khaki

thumb_IMG_3494_1024

So I really need to apologise for the infrequent posts. Life in my new job is pretty exciting at the moment, but also very busy. And while I don't want to give a load of excuses, I am still trying to adjust and sort out my time management. Lets just say say that having a full time job is very different to being a student!

Anyway, I am back with another Marrakech post. At this rate my one 5 day holiday could drag out on my blog for the whole of Summer. I should probably start thinking about writing some different posts in between.

The photo above is probably one of my favourite photos that I forced my boyfriend to take on the trip. I find the white aesthetics and flowers very pleasing (and fitting with my Instagram theme!). But I have day old curls (my favourite as they drop to beautiful loose waves), my sunglasses are hiding the bags under my eyes and I love this dress.

thumb_IMG_3575_1024

On this day we wondered the souks and then explored this beautiful secret garden in the middle of town. As I mentioned in my last post the amount of detail that is put into everything here is amazing. This garden took years and years to build, which is obvious when you walk around. We sat in a little building looking on to the garden and had the best mint tea I tried in Marrakech (and we had a fair amount of mint tea!).

thumb_IMG_3504_1024

I bought this dress last year but it is still one of my favourites for summer. It's the perfect piece to throw on, but as it is a shirt dress in still looks fairly smart. And it has a lining which means there are no underwear issues!

Dress - Mango
Sunglasses - H&M
Watch - Nixon

thumb_IMG_3500_1024

It was amazing to see so much green in a place that I though would be so dry. And I love all the different palms and cacti!

thumb_IMG_3467_1024

The aesthetic of the teal tiles and white furniture is beautiful. It feels very summery and bohemian.

I have so many posts that I want to write, not just about Marrakech, but about my new job, beauty bits I'm loving and some recent purchases. Hopefully this weekend I can dedicate some time to a bit of a catch up session, but for now thank you for staying with me.

Longchamp Handbag

Longchamp Handbag

So here it is! The little purchase that I told you about in yesterday post. A Longchamp handbag! I have wanted the classic Longchamp bag for years. It is just a beautiful timeless piece that can go with so many different outfits and is large enough for everyday.

I spent Friday in London wondering around Borough Market and Covent Garden with my boyfriend and our friend but after they both had to leave for work in the afternoon I was left on my own to wonder around the shops on Oxford Street. Very dangerous!

And as you can probably imagine I found myself in the huge Longchamp store on Regents Street staring up at the wall of all the different colours and all the different sizes of Le Pliage handbags. It took about a minute standing in front of the mirror with this handbag to know that I wasn't going to be leaving without it. However it took approximately 15 minutes, still standing in front of the mirror with the bag to weight up the pros and cons and mentally justify the purchase! In the end the beauty, quality and the feeling that the handbag gave me that just made me want to squeak with joy overruled the price, and I walked about the store with a beautiful new bag.

The colour that I chose is the shade "Gunmetal" which is this beautiful dark grey shade. I knew that I wanted a neutral colour bag that I could wear with everything and I was much more drawn to the darker colours, especially now we are going to be heading into Autumn and Winter. I love the navy colour but most people have that one and I also thought that I wear navy jeans most of the time and I didn't want to overload on the navy! I also really like the black but I don't really wear a lot of black. So this dark grey is just prefect for me and I think it is just gorgeous!

Katherine Penney Chic New Handbag Haul Shopping Designer Luxury Longchamp Pretty Gunpetal beautiful love preppy favourite

Buying this bag has really made me realise how a more luxury handbag can make you whole outfit look so much more expensive. Here I am wearing a white shirt from eBay that cost less than £10! But paired with well fitting jeans and my new Longchamp bag (and probably my gold watch) the shirt suddenly looks so much smarter.

Katherine Penney Chic New Handbag Haul Shopping Designer Luxury Longchamp Pretty Gunpetal beautiful love preppy favourite

I still can't believe that I have a Longchamp bag that I have wanted for so long! I want to really look after it but at the same time I don't want it to be a fancy bag that I am too scared to ruin so I never use it. I am going to use this all the time, most days and I know that it might get a little scuffed at some point, but that will just show how well loved it is!

Crystal Wasters

Crystal Wasters

Katherine Penney Chic Blogger Travel Lifestyle Holiday Summer Kefalonia Beautiful Crystal Sea Amazing View

Today we found my favourite beach so far. It was just magical. Bright blue skies and beautiful turquoise waters. I wish we could have stayed there even longer but after a while it almost gets too hot and you start to feel like you have probably seen enough sun for one day.

I lost count of the number of times that I went swimming in the sea! I'd try and sunbathe a bit and then get too hot and need to get into the water to cool down. But seriously, how beautiful is this view? I climbed over the rocks at one point and took so many photographs as I want to remember this forever.

We got to the beach pretty early this morning, the earliest morning I have had in a while! It was nice to get there before it go really hot, while the sun was more bearable. We had a little picnic for lunch and then left after one last swim to get some ice lollies.

I got back and showered all the salt off and now I am already in bed in my pyjamas sorting though some of my holiday photos and doing some editing, I think we are staying in for dinner tonight so it is going to be pyjamas all evening now! Speak soon :) xx

First Day In Kefalonia

First Day In Kefalonia

Katherine Penney Chic Summer Holiday Kefalonia 2015 Greece Island Sea Beautiful View Ocean

We arrived in Kefalonia! And my gosh, it is so beautiful. I think tomorrow I might take a few pictures of our villa, pool and view to share with you all. But right now I just have a few pictures from today.

We arrived at the villa at around midday and basically jumped straight in the pool! After a pretty chilled afternoon sunbathing, unpacking and catching up on some much sleep we headed out in our hire car to explore the area. And this is what we stumbled across!

The beach wasn't particularly sandy but the sea and swimming certainly made up for that. The water was the perfect temperate and so clear and calm. My dad, brother, sister and I swam out for ages (all the way to some of the boats on the right in the first picture). Near the boats we found a cave that we could swim into and do a bit of exploring. We also did some cliff jumping off some of the high rocks by the cave. My brother Nick doing flips, my sister and I leaping, screaming and hitting the water very hard! But it was one of the most amazing swims I have ever done and this was only the first day.

Since we got back to the villa we had a lovely barbecue for dinner and have been relaxing. I've found my little work station which is perfect for blogging too! And yes, this is my new laptop! I am still learning how to use it, and having been a Dell user all of my life it is probably going to take some time.

But I should probably get some sleep now, we were up at 2am this morning and I have lost 2 hours due to the time difference. So keep an eye out for all of my Kefalonia blogposts coming up in the next couple of weeks. Speak soon xx

Kefalonia Inspiration 2015

Kefalonia Inspiration 2015

Katherine Penney Chic WeHeartIt inspiration summer holiday pictures blue sea sun beautiful Kefalonia
Eek! I am so excited to write this post! In two days time I will be going on holiday to Kefalonia with my family! We are staying in a beautiful villa with a swimming pool and amazing views and I honestly can't contain my excitement!

Yesterday was my last day at work for a while so I have a couple of days to sort everything out and get packing. And while I love going on holiday (most people do!) I am not really a fan of packing. I can't ever travel light and I hate the idea that I won't have all of my stuff with me and if I need something or I forget it then that's just my problem. I love mixing and matching different summery outfits for a holiday but in the end I just want to bring my whole wardrobe.

So I put together a collage of my favourite summer holiday images from WeHeartIt to get me even more excited for my holiday to Kefalonia and hopefully make packing less of a chore! I am just dreaming of the sun on my skin, my feet in the sand and crystal clear sea.

I can't wait to share my holiday with you on the blog over the next couple of weeks. I don't think that they will be quite as professional as the ones above but hopefully I can take some beautiful pictures while I am away.

And if you want to see more beautiful images like these ones then check out my WeHeartIt account here

Have to go and get packing now! Speak soon xx
