Treating Myself

Treating Myself

Katherine Penney Chic Shopping VS PINK Haul Bra Treat Pretty Lace

As some of you may know I am a Campus Representative for Victoria's Secret PINK at my university. It's such an amazing experience and I have had so much fun holding student events and promoting a brand that I love.

At the end of last term I was given a gift card with some money on that I could spend it VS or VS PINK as a thank you for my work that term. Over the Christmas holidays I went shopping with my sister and bought some things with the card. So if you want to see what else I got you can head over to this post here

But I made sure that I save a bit of money to treat myself to something I have always wanted, a Victoria's Secret bra. They are girlie, and beautiful and sexy and way out of my price range! But with my gift card it didn't really feel like I was spending money (why is that?!) so I treated myself.

Katherine Penney Chic Shopping VS PINK Haul Bra Treat Pretty Lace

As soon as I walked into the store I spotted this bra and immediately fell in love. I knew I wanted to spend my money on something special, not just a white bra. But something more pretty than bright and neon. I think the black and white floral lace is so sophisticated and I love that the bra comes lower down as well.

The bra itself it the comfiest one that I own too. Now I really see what all the hype was about! I wanted to save this more for special occasions but it's so difficult not to wear this everyday. Especially now it has made me realise that my other bras don't fit me properly at all! The straps are really soft and slightly wider than I am used to which makes this so comfy.

In case anyone is wondering I didn't buy any matching pants. My gift card wouldn't stretch that far and I actually wasn't too keen on the ones that went with these. But I think with any pretty black underwear this will look great.

I did think about whether I wanted to post a picture of my underwear on my blog. But underwear is something that we all need and shop for so why not?! Especially as this one makes such a pretty picture!

Navy Haul

Navy Haul

thumb_IMG_2181_1024

Earlier this week, when I was back at home I had such a lovely day out with my mum. We did some shopping and had a lovely healthy lunch out at Bills. I picked up a few pieces, under a strict colour scheme apparently so I though I would share them with you.

thumb_IMG_2184_1024

The first place I went was Topshop, of course! It wasn't the biggest Topshop but they still had plenty of things to try on. I was actually looking for a pair of jeans after an unfortunate rip in my favourite pair of Zara jeans. And please don't ask where!

The pair that I ended up getting were the Topshop Joni jeans. They are high waisted which I have never got before (I know!) and in a lovely dark denim. They are very skinny, but that is how I like my jeans, but still allow a lot of movement as they are so stretchy. I am looking forward to wearing these with some pretty cropped tops without having to show much of my stomach!

thumb_IMG_4596_1024

Then in Topshop I also got this beautiful chambray shirt. I do not need another shirt at all. But I made the mistake of trying this one on and falling in love with it. The fit and the fabric are just lovely and I think this will be a really versatile piece on it's own or for layering.

thumb_IMG_2185_1024

We also had a quick look in Jack Wills before we headed home. I had been told by so many people that Jack Wills were having a really amazing sale but I never actually got around to having a look. I wish I had a bit earlier really, but I have probably saved myself a lot of money!

thumb_IMG_2188_1024
I did pick up this stunning top that was about £60 down to £19! Once again it is navy and has beautiful lace detailing. It's a slightly cropped peplum top and I love that it has the cami build in underneath.

Links to everything I bought:

thumb_IMG_2186_1024

The peplum detailing in just beautiful, and even thrown on with a pair of jeans (like my new high waisted ones) this looks really but together.

It is great to be back in Manchester now that everyone else has finished their exams. Tonight we are all getting dressed up and going out for cocktails in Spinningfields. I'm going to wear my new Mango lace dress. No prizes for guessing the colour! And I'm just painting my nails in a new polish I got for Christmas, Essie Take it Outside. It's a beautiful grey/beige that I might try and take some photos and do a quick post on tomorrow.

I'm really looking forward to dressing up and having a very classy evening. But right now I am in my PINK hoodie and we are going to order loads of pizza for dinner! It's all about balance.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

Sheer Chic

Sheer Chic

Katherine Penney Chic Blogger Minimal Style Fashion Outfit ootd Summer White Lace Bralette Pretty Feminine Love

Today I went up to London for the day with my boyfriend and our friend from school and spent the day in the sun wondering around Covent Garden and Borough Market. Covent Garden is such a lovely place for shopping and Borough Market has some of the most amazing food place!

But I really wanted to show you my outfit today and I had one of those break throughs where I found a combination of clothes that I already had but had never worn together before! And I just love this look! The idea of underwear as outwear and visible bras and bralettes has been around for a while. I personally don't have the confidence right now to wear just a bralette with out anything over the top, but I do love layering with beautiful lace bralettes.

Katherine Penney Chic Blogger Minimal Style Fashion Outfit ootd Summer White Lace Bralette Pretty Feminine Love

The light blue lace bralette that I am wearing here is one from Topshop which I got a few months ago. It's not see through over the bust, has beautiful lace details, a zip at the back and a deep V-neck shape. Plus it is in a gorgeous minty blue, so basically it is perfect! I love wearing it with V-neck tops and jumper so you can see some of the lace showing through.

Today I wore my sheer white shirt with the buttons undone to just below the bralette so it was slightly visible. My shirt is actually a very cheap one I found on eBay years ago, but I don't wear it much as I wasn't actually expecting it to be sheer!

However now I have found a way to wear this shirt with the bralette underneath and I love how it looks. It's that perfect smart casual style and still looks really classy and feminine.

For my makeup I went for more of a pinky purple eye looks as opposed to my usual neutrals. But I was just desperate to use my new Naked 3 palette! I think this looks beautiful with a natural lip and a little bit of pinky blushers for a girlie and sweet look.

Katherine Penney Chic Blogger Minimal Style Fashion Outfit ootd Summer White Lace Bralette Pretty Feminine Love

Right now I am still just playing around with all of the different shades in my Naked 3 palette but I can't wait so do a post soon showing you some different eye looks.

Today I also managed to squeeze in a little bit of shopping after the others had gone home, and I actually made a little (actually a bit of a splurge!) purchase of something that I have wanted for so long now! So keep an eye out as I think I will show you that in my next post.
I'm off to make a cup of tea and eat the most amazing gooey chocolate brownie from Borough Market! xx

Lovely Lace

Lovely Lace

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion OUtfit Summer Lace Pretty Cardigan Necklace Elephant

Firstly I think I should probably address my hair in the photo above! I had just washed it and let it dry naturally but honestly however I dry my hair it always seems to go quite big and static for the first few hours!

Anyway, I have another outfit post for you today. The weather has been so lovely and it is just getting me even more excited for summer and beautiful summer clothes.

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion OUtfit Summer Lace Pretty Cardigan Necklace Elephant

I love this outfit as it is really simple and easy to throw on but still looks so pretty. The lace detail on this cardigan is so beautiful and it's slouchy style makes it perfect to throw on for everyday. This top is a really old plain top but I think that there are so many different tops that would work with this casual outfit. Also I just wanted an opportunity to wear this beautiful necklace that my brother got me for Christmas. It is just the cutest elephant, which is my favourite animal and I know I am going to wear this so much during Summer.

Let me know in the comments below what you think of this summer outfit. I just went out with some friends after dinner as today was free scoop day a Ben and Jerry's! So I had a free Cookie Dough ice cream for dessert and it was amazing! Back on topic, the whole point of that was I wore this exact outfit into town at like 6pm and I wasn't even cold! Loving this weather at the moment! xx

Spring Whites

Spring Whites

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion Style Zara White Jumper Lace Spring Scarf Trench Coat

It's finally starting to feel like Spring and I really hope that the weather keeps getting nicer now. The other day I went to meet an old friend that I have known since I was about 4 for lunch it town. It's so lovely to have friends like that who you don't see very often but when you do you can just pick up where you left off and it is like nothing ever changed.

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion Style Zara White Jumper Lace Spring Scarf Trench Coat

For my outfit I wore a few of my favourite pieces at the moment. I can't get enough of this beautiful checked vintage scarf that I got a few months ago at Clothes Show Live. It's quite subtle because of the pastel colours but it still adds a lovely detail to an outfit. I am also wearing one of my favourite necklaces at the moment which is this gold flower pendant from Accessorize. I think that Accessorize to the most beautiful little pieces of jewellery and I am really into detailed delicate jewellery at the moment.

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion Style Zara White Jumper Lace Spring Scarf Trench Coat

This is one of my current favourite jumpers that I got in the sale a couple of months ago from Zara. It's just a simple quite high neck white jumper that goes with nearly everything (especially this scarf). But what really caught my eye about this jumper was the beautiful lace detail on the sleeves.

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion Style Zara White Jumper Lace Spring Scarf Trench Coat

And because the beautiful sleeve detail makes my jumper slightly less practical and less warm I also wore my Zara (again!) trench coat. This coat is so perfect for throwing on at this time of year and it goes with nearly everything I own.

Katherine Penney Chic Fashion Style Zara White Jumper Lace Spring Scarf Trench Coat

And of course, no outfit is really complete without a good lipstick. This is a Rimmel moisture renew lipstick in the shade Saved By The Bell. It's a gorgeous pink with a beautiful gold shimmer running through and is something that I always reach for when Spring arrives and I want to freshen up my makeup look for the new season.

Kylie Jenner Inspired Look - Fuller Lips Trick

Kylie Jenner Inspired Look - Fuller Lips Trick

Katherine Penney Chic Beauty Makeup Kylie Jenner Inspired Celeb Lashes Lips Fuller Plump Night Out

I have some pictures from a night out probably about a week ago now but I really wanted to share them with you as I really loved my makeup. The look that I was going for was kind of Kylie Jenner inspired although I don't look anything like her. I really wanted to do my own take on the nude eyes, big fluttery lashes and matte nude lips.

Katherine Penney Chic Beauty Makeup Kylie Jenner Inspired Celeb Lashes Lips Fuller Plump Night Out

To get my lashes as long and fluttery as possible I used Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I got the free sample with an Elle magazine and I haven't used any other mascara since. I wear this same mascara for everyday but for evenings you can really layer it up to get that false lash effect look and it doesn't go clumpy.

For my Kylie Jenner inspired lips I first outlined my lips with MaXfactor colour elixir lip liner in 02 Pink Petal. This is a really lovely nude shade and I use this to slightly overdraw my lips and make them appear a bit fuller. I then used my Mac lipstick in Patisserie all over over my lips for my base nude shade. Using the tip of Rimmel lasting finish lipstick by Kate in the shade 08 I created a shadow on my lips. I did this by outlining my lips again especially on the bottom of my bottom lip and then smoothed it all out with my finger so there were no harsh lines. And finally I dabbed a little bit of white eyeshadow onto the centre of my bottom lip to make them appear really plump.

Dress - H&M

This beautiful black lace skater dress from H&M was such a good buy, I have worn this so many times as you can just throw it on for an effortless dressed up look and there are so many different ways that you can style it. A little black dress is something that every girl should have in their wardrobe!

Hope you liked this little style post. For the last few days I have just been lounging around the house with no makeup on and wearing lounge pants! And now looking at all these pictures makes me wish that I had something to get all dressed up for and spend time doing nice makeup. But I think tonight is just another Netflix evening! xx
