Sun Daze

I am fully aware that by the time this post goes live it will no longer be a Sunday, and my title pun will have less of an effect! But I am sticking with it anyway.

This Sunday, one of the hottest days of the year so far, I went to my boyfriend Jacks house for a family barbecue. After weeks spent revising in tracksuit bottoms, my hair in a messy bun and no makeup on it was nice to get a little bit dressed up. It was also lovely to put a pretty blouse on and not have to worry that it wouldn't even be seen under a coat or jacket!

We had such a lovely time in the sunshine chatting, drinking and eating barbecue food followed by the most incredible pavlova.

I decided to keep my outfit fairly simple, jeans and a white blouse, and then add some pretty accessories such as this satchel bag, delicate jewellery and sunglasses of course.

I think I have finally mastered the art of hair curling with straighteners! I'm not perfect, or particularly quick, but I love how natural these loose waves look. I also love the detail on this New Look blouse. I bought it in the sale and have had it for years but it is still one of my favourites. Also how adorable is my gold elephant pendant which my little sister bought me!

I also kept my makeup fairly simple, so that it wouldn't all melt off in the sunshine and heat! I kept my skin dewey, classic brown eyeshadow, fluttery lashes and my favourite nude matte lipstick. I am definitely going to have to write a post on this lip product fairly soon as it is all I have been reaching for recently.

I love how simple, girlie and understated this whole look is. It is the perfect combination of put-together without looking like you have put too much effort into it. And I can't believe how well my shoes and bag match!

You might recognise these beautiful shoes from a fairly recent post. I got them from River Island and I am just in love. For a while now I had wanted a pair of Summer heels that I would feel comfortable wearing during the day. These shoes (which I found in the sale as well!) are exactly what I was looking for. They are simple, comfortable and the nude shade means they are wearable with so many different outfits.

...And pout!

Yesterday was just as hot as Sunday, and I spent most of the day lying in the sun with the latest issue of ELLE Magazine and a berry smoothie! Not a bad Monday I guess! Today however is a totally different story. I went into town with my brother to pick up some ingredients as I am going to do some baking soon, and just as we arrived the torrential rain started. The saying "and the heavens opened" was very appropriate! But it was still so humid, so I was wondering around wearing a t-shirt and carrying an umbrella. Very strange!

New and Nude

New and Nude

I have finally taken my umbrella out of my handbag and swapped it for my sunglasses, which means Summer is well and truly on the way. And while I will be the first to admit that I do not need to be doing anymore shopping I somehow ended up buying two new pairs of shoes yesterday. Such is life! So in an attempt to make myself feel slightly less guilty about my purchases I thought I would share them on my blog.

Last Summer I bought a pair of beige slip-ons from Accessories for only £10, and my love for slip-ons was born. They were comfy, went with everything and just looked cool. Sadly like most things in life, they didn’t last forever. To be honest I am actually embarrassed by the state that they are currently in and the fact that I hadn’t replaced them sooner.  I spotted these beautiful replicas in Schuh and fell in love. They are exactly what I was looking for and I actually prefer that they are slightly more pinky. They also feel much better quality so hopefully if I look after them they will last a little longer! And at £25 I think they are a total bargain as I know I will be living in these this Summer.

 

The second pair of shoes were slightly less justified, however I have been looking for something similar for a while now. I saw these in a haul by FreddyMyLove, and immediately clicked the link to have a look at them. So when I saw that they had gone down to £20 in a recent promotion I was sold. I have wanted a pair of Summer sandals with a small heel that would still be wearable for a smarter everyday look. These clog style shoes, which are everywhere at the moment still feel pretty and feminine and the nude colour will work with most of my wardrobe. I think these are also going to be really versatile and work well with skirts and dresses but also cropped jeans and a pretty blouse.

Now that I am writing this and looking back at the pictures I have absolutely no regrets! I can start to pack away all of my Winter boots and look forward to wearing these beauties.

Victoria's Secret PINK Freebies!

Victoria's Secret PINK Freebies!

So as promised here is the second part to my Victoria's Secret PINK posts. If you didn't read my last blogpost then basically I am a Victoria's Secret PINK Campus Rep for the University of Manchester! Last week I had my training day up in London where I met all PINK team and all the other campus reps. I had such an amazing time and I was lucky enough to receive loads of lovely gifts and freebies so I thought I would share them all with you now. 

I'm going to start with the 2 items that I am most excited to share with you. On the second and final day of our VS PINK training we were taken to the huge store at Shepard's Bush where we were given a tour of the shop and taught all about the stock. We were each also given a PINK gift card with £100 to spend on whatever we wanted in store! I know, I couldn't believe how generous they were being! 

The first thing that I picked out was this hoodie style top. It's my colours, grey and navy and I love the marl effect. What I thought was really unique about this one was that it is an over-the-head hoodie, but it has little zip which I think makes the neckline so much more flattering. It's just so cosy and comfy and I know I am going to be living in this! Especially when I get back to uni! 

The second item that I chose was a little bit dressier. When we were having the tour of the shop I spotted this lace bralette and just fell in love. I am really love bralette right now layered under pretty tops and jumpers. This one is a little bit different as it has the extra straps across the neckline which is such a lovely detail. I love the colour of this, especially for the Autumn and winter and the beautiful lace. And I've actually already styled this one and worn it out so I can wait to show you that outfit soon. 

When we all met at the hotel in Leicester Square we were given these amazing goodie bags. The bag itself is neon pink which is so cool and I know I am going to be using this as a gym bag. 

Inside the bag we each got a VS PINK outfit and lots of other little goodies. 

The top that I got is so lovely and again will be perfect for motivating myself to do some exercise. I love the colour and the contrast sleeves and it is just a really flattering fit. 

And of course the cute pink dog! 

The other part of my outfit were these amazing leggings. I have needed a pair of long black leggings for so long now so this really was just meant to be, and they fit perfectly! They are plain black but with these cool panels down the leg which I think makes them look extra sporty! And what is so good about these is they are so thick and not at all see through which I hate about a lot of leggings. They actually almost feel a bit like wetsuit material so I know they will keep me warm on Winter runs and last for ages. 

The final item of clothing was given to me just before we went to the outdoor cinema in the evening. And I felt very grateful to have this as it rained, a lot! The coat is one of the newest pieces from VS PINK and is perfect for the transition into Autumn. It is waterproof and has a fleece lining so it is extra warm. I think this will be perfect for everything from dog walking to running and this one is bright pink so I don't think I will be missed even when evenings start to get darker!

And here is a pictured of me dressed head to toe in my new PINK clothes! 

Some of the other cool items that I got were a towel, sunglasses, two pairs of awesome socks, a phone case and a water bottle (which I have wanted for ages!).

I don't actually think I have mentioned it on my blog yet, but this year I am going to be a Victoria's Secret PINK Campus Rep at the University of Manchester! I know, I can't believe it! When they called me up a few months ago to let me know that I had got the position I think I kind of just squealed down the phone! 

Last week I was invited up to London by VS PINK for the most amazing couple of days, meeting the team and the other campus reps and finding out what exactly we were going to be getting up to in the coming year. 

We all met up at the hotel in Leicester Square where we received a bag of VS PINK goodies! I think I am going to do a whole separate post on all of the amazing things I was given as I was so spoilt! We then made our way over to the VS PINK head office, which was just down the road (a few blocks from Five Guys). The Office was beautiful, full of balloons, the PINK dog and just loads of pink! Plus it smelt amazing. 

We spent the first day getting to know each other, talking through the programme and eating lots of yummy food! We also had a Skype call with some people from the VS PINK team in America which was so cool. 

In the evening we were taken to an outdoor theatre in London to watch Moulin Rouge. And we were given even more amazing VS PINK gifts, which actually came in pretty useful as it tipped it down with rain and we ended up having to leave early! I spent the remainder of the evening sitting in one of the hotel rooms with three other girls just chatting and snacking for hours. It was so lovely to meet girls that were so similar to me and that I just clicked with. 

On the second day we were up VERY early to go to the Victoria's Secret PINK store at Shepard's Bush Westfield, which is my favourite shopping centre. We had a really amazing tour of the store and we talked through all the stock. And then we were each given £100 to spend in store! I chose a couple things that I am just in love with. One of which I wore out last night so there would be some blog photos of that coming soon, and the other thing I am wearing right now! 

I am so excited for my second year, moving into my house with all my best friends and now also being a Victoria's Secret PINK Campus Rep! Keep an eye on for a post coming up soon with all the PINK things I got from the last couple of days! Speak soon xx

Faux Pink Leather

Faux Pink Leather

If you haven't realised that the summer sales are in full swing then where have you been?! And this year I have definitely found some great bargains! So today's whole post is dedicated to one of my favourite clothing items right now. This gorgeous pastel pink faux leather jacket. 

I can't actually take the credit for finding this jacket, while I was on holiday in Spain my mum spotted this one. And when I got home and I saw it on my bed it was the best surprise, she knows my style very well! But I was so surprised when I read the label and saw where she had found the jacket; in Sainsbury's! Yes, my mum found the gorgeous jacket while doing our weekly food shop!

I have loved styling this outfit in lots of different outfits, so I might do a blog post soon showing some different looks and ways I like to wear this jacket. My favourite way to wear this jacket is how I have shown it in the pictures. With a simple silky white top and a delicate necklace and then a pair of dark skinny jeans. I think keeping this look really simple lets the jacket take the spotlight in the outfit and makes it look more expensive. 

And it would seen that it's not just pastel pink jackets that I am loving right now! I also recently picked up these beautiful jeans that have a slight leather effect from the Mango sale...but they weren't the only thing I bought from Mango so I'm saving that for a separate post that is coming up soon. So keep an eye out for that. And in the meantime I recommend you have a look at the Mango sale as they have some great bargains! xx
