Goodbye ASOS

So I have officially finished my incredible placement year at ASOS, and come September it is back to the student life for me! And while I can't say I am going to miss the 5:30am starts and the cramped commutes, I am going to miss working for the most incredible company and being a part of something amazing.

I've talked a lot about ASOS on this blog, and particularly over the last year. There was the post about a year ago when I started ASOS which you can read here and so many hauls and mentions since. So I felt it was only fair to give a little round up and do a goodbye post.

ASOS has become a company so close to my heart. I've grown so much as a person over the last year, grown in confidence but also just grown up! A real job in the real world does that to you! I've met and worked with some of the most inspirational and kindest people, people who have supported me when things got tough and then stepped back and let me have my moment to shine. I've had two different managers, with two very different managing styles and loved and looked up to them both equally. I've made some incredible friendships with people who I know I am going to stay in touch with. I've presented to and then chatted in the pub with the exec of ASOS, Nick B, whose incredible new form of management and leadership fascinates me. I've been to launches and gigs and parties, and a few too many work lunches and afterwork drinks! And I've even been on the tube getting out my ASOS lanyard and had a girl stop me just to say that "I work for the coolest company!".

I could go on forever about how amazing my year has been. But ASOS is such a positive, inspirational and creative community that I have been so lucky to be a part of for the last year. And even more lucky that on my last day they offered me a permanent job role for when I graduate!!!

So goodbye ASOS, you've been everything I could have wished for. But just goodbye for now because I will be back in that swanky new building in a year!

Speak soon,

xx

What I Bought From the ASOS Sale

It's that time of year again. No, not just Summer, it's Summer sales! Which really makes no sense to me as it feels as though Summer is only just beginning. But it's a sale, so you won't hear me complaining. You can probably expect a few sale hauls coming up on my blog soon so I thought I would kick things off with my favourite; an ASOS sale. And if you haven't already spent hours scrolling through it like I have, you should probably check it out. NOW.

I had this dress in my saved items for a while, so when it finally went down in the sale I bought it straight away. It's beautiful and classic and a tiered silhouette which I currently don't own. I've worn it so many times already as it is such an easy one to throw on and just feel really put together.

ASOS Tiered Spot Pleated Mini Dress

In September I am going back to uni (which I am really excited about), but I realised the other day that literally all of my going out clothes are the same. I have some cute bodies, some lacey top, some nice crop tops, but they are all black! So this was my attempt to try and inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe! I loved the shape of the top, but I really fell in love with the colour and of course the sequins. And it kind of reminds me of a mermaid, which is never a bad thing!

ASOS Crop Swing Cami in Sequin

This was another attempt to make my going out clothes a bit more adventurous, and I ended up with monochrome. This is the most cropped crop top I think I own, but the shape of it is so flattering and I love the one shoulder detail. I was planning on wearing this with a pair of high waisted jeans, but I also think that this would look amazing just of Summer with a pair of white denim shorts. Plus, it's a great way to inject a little bit of gingham in your wardrobe, which is totally having a moment.

Gingham Cropped Cotton One Shoulder Bralet

So unfortunately this hat is not in the sale, and in fact this exact hat has sold out. But I have found one really similar and I did want to mention this as I love it. I've seen more and more people wear this baker boy style hat now, and I just think it is such a cool trend. I also think this is something that is going to take me right into Winter and early next year. I want to wear this with striped and slogan t-shirt now while it's still warm and then military style jackets and big wool coats for Winter.

ASOS Wool Mix Baker Boy Hat

So that's all I've bought so far, although by the time that I write this post I am sure I will have already made another order! ASOS just make it so easy! And look out for some more hauls coming your way!

Pretty In Paisley

My wardrobe is pretty full and to be perfectly honest I do not need new clothes...ever! But as a fashion student and someone who spends hours reading magazines and scrolling through Pinterest never shopping again isn't really an option! So my new rule is to only buy things that I absolutely love, and that bring my joy (within reason of course). So I wanted to share the latest edition to my wardrobe that I am totally obsessed with. So much so that it only arrived today I have already taken a load of photos to upload to Instagram and write a blogpost!

This dress is just everything. It's feminine and beautifully intricate but it's so unique and different to anything I have seen before. The colours are stunning, and that's saying something as I am not usually one to wear much colour. And it totally nails the oriental and brocade trend with the paisley print and mandarin style collar.

I love the fit and the shape and I can't wait to style this with little flat sandals and a cross body bag for daytime, and some strappy heels for the evening.

The dress is from a brand called Comino Couture which I recently found on ASOS. They sell some really beautiful occasion dresses, I'm also in love with the halter neck navy style.

The great thing about ASOS is finding unique little brands that you wouldn't have come across otherwise. I now have a list of brands that I love from ASOS which I check after having a look at New In! I think I might do a post on how I shop and navigate the ASOS website soon too. But for now I'm just going to be staring at my beautiful new dress!

Happy Sunday, and speak soon xx

I can't wait until all my exams and interviews are over and I can fall back in love with blogging again. I am so upset that it has had to take a back seat while I revise but I guess that is just how it is. Although I did manage to get my camera out a few times yesterday so I though I would share the pictures with you.

I'm loving curling up with a white hot chocolate in my new mug and reading some magazines and catalogues. I love The White Company, they have so many beautiful pieces.

I've been burning this candle that I got recently while revising. Now that I have finished all of my Christmas candles it's nice to have sweet and refreshing. Also this is really pretty! Before I started to burn it there were little stars on the top.

I recently did an ASOS order and it arrived the other day! I already had the grey Calvin Klein cotton bra that I basically live in. It is the softest comfiest thing and perfect for lounging around the house when you don't want an underwire bra but you don't feel you can go braless either! I've wanted the matching pants for so long so I finally treated myself. They fit perfectly and are just as comfy. Now I just need the model figure to wear this!

ASOS do free delivery for orders over £20 and naturally my Calvin Klein pants were under. So to get my free delivery I also treated myself to this little bracelet. Orelia is a brand that I love that do beautiful delicate and minimal pieces. Before I could only ever find them at Topshop so I am very excited that ASOS also stock this brand. This little bracelet was in the sale and I think it will be perfect for layering with some different delicate pieces.

Hope you like this little post. I have a list in my notepad of so many posts I want to write. It's just trying to find the time to write them all!

Katherine Penney Chic Blogger Fashion Style Outfit Minimal Simple Pretty Love Favourite Mango

I'm getting more and more into this minimal style that I seem to be seeing a lot of at the moment. Neutral colours, clean lines and nothing too fussy make this style simple, effortless and oh so chic.

A recent minimal addition to my wardrobe has been this white slogan t-shirt from Mango. It says "MAKE IT HAPPEN" in block capitals, which I love as it my new "motivational" tee! It's so simple and cute, especially with my H&M bar gold necklace and gold watch.

I love wearing this top with a pair of black skinny jeans, my black heeled boots and a grey cardigan. For going outside though I also wore my ASOS coat and a big grey wool scarf. I also curled my hair into loose waves this day and I'm wearing my new favourite lipstick. It has beautiful brown undertones which I really think makes brown eyes pop!

For the last few days I have been in either pjs or lounge pants, sitting at my laptop trying to get all my coursework done for the end of term. I actually wore this outfit last weekend when my boyfriend Jack came to stay and we went ice skating, out for cocktails and dinner and then to a Kodaline concert. Kodaline is probably my favourite band and they were so incredible. Especially singing my favourite song Love Like This!

Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I feel like sadly I have had to say this a lot lately. I have a lot of coursework and deadlines for university at the moment. I love my blog and writing posts for you guys but right now work has to take priority.

Speak soon lovelies xx

Katherine Penney Chic Style Fashion Smart Classic Outfit ootd Marble Black jeans ASOS Zara Summer

I wanted to share with you a smarter everyday look for something like a date or a nice day out. I actually wore this to my interview for Joules a couple of weeks ago!

Katherine Penney Chic Style Fashion Smart Classic Outfit ootd Marble Black jeans ASOS Zara Summer

I chose to wear my new top from ASOS sale that I ordered a couple of weeks. It's this beautiful pinky beige and black marble print in a boxyT-shirt style. I also love the fabric of this top, it is slightly textured and feels really lovely but it is also still breathable for Summer. And for right now when the weather can be slightly temperamental I wore my Zara mac as I think it keeps the look nice and smart.

I love pairing boxy style tops like this one with a really well fitting pair of skinny jeans like these lovely ones from Zara. And I chose to go for black jeans as they are smart, classic and pick up the colour in the top. These jeans are very stretchy and comfortable and I love wearing then.

To accessorise I kept it simple with my delicate gold necklace, my gold watch and some classic sunglasses.

Trench Coat - Zara
Shoes - Office
Sunglasses - Forever 21
Necklace - Accessorize

Hope you liked this outfit post. I'd love to hear in the comments below what you thought of this smarter look. Speak soon xx
