End Of Exams Card

End Of Exams Card 

As some of you may know I finished my exams last Wednesday but my boyfriend Jack only finishes today. To celebrate the end of his exams and essentially the beginning of his summer I made him this card which I am going to put in his locker with a packet of minstrels (minstrels after exams have become a bit of a tradition for us!). See, I will take literally an opportunity to make a card! I made this card really quickly this evening with watercolours for the background and then just some coloured card for the sign. I also used some of those little foam sticker things that make stuff look slightly 3D which I think is awesome!

His exam is in the morning so straight after I am taking his bowling, because I realised that we have never actually been and it is such an old school date. After I'm taking him out for lunch to a restaurant of his choice, but knowing him I'm sure we will end up in Nandos! Then we are going to the cinema to see The Fault in our Stars, and I know that I saw it last week on the day it came out but Jack really wanted to see it as well and it was so good that I don't mind seeing it again. And maybe this time I will be crying less so I can concentrate more on the film!

Homemade Father's Day Card

Homemade Father's Day Card 

I'll take any opportunity to make cards for people, especially during revision time, so this Father's Day was a perfect opportunity. This on one inspired by something I remember seeing on the internet ages ago and thought it was really cool. This was so quick and easy to make and all I needed was a plain white card, black, blue, grey and white card (colours can change), a pencil, a pen, scissors and glue. And basically all I had to do was cut out the different shapes and stick them down and just bend over the black card for the collar of the suit. I also decided to draw pin stripes in pencil on the blazer of the card to make it more fun and also my dad has a suit like this that he wears a lot. This was such a quick, easy and cheap gift for my dad, but with a cup of tea in the morning I know that he really appreciated it. 

So thank you dad for all that you have done for me and for always supporting me. When it feels like the world is falling apart you'll stay up all night hugging me until you can get me to smile again. Hope you get well soon dad. I love you <3 xx

Homemade Valentines Day Cards

So Valentines Day is in less than a week now and I thought that I would do a quick post on some lovely creative and personal cards that you can make for the one you love. Cards and letters are often forgotten about as usually it's all about the gift and the card it just there to say who it is from. But I think for Valentines Day the card is the most important part as its a chance to say how you really feel about someone. I usually try and give cards that I have made for myself to people for birthdays and Christmas etc as it shows that you have given up time to make something rather than rush down the road to buy a card. And there is something really nice about putting some music on and being all creative. 

So now it's really up to you. Your card could be whatever you want it to. If you can draw or paint then this can be a really lovely card idea and you could even get it framed afterwards. For those who are maybe less creative then making a collage of the pictures that you have together is also a really sweet idea. Personally my favourite are the cute and simple play-on-words cards. Below are a few images that I have found on WeHeartIt that might give you some ideas. 

So have fun with this little project because it really does mean so much more than a bought card. But ultimately its all about the message that you write inside your card. Let me know how you are going to be spending Valentines day this Friday.
