I have a pretty large and ever growing nail polish collection so the few (or not so few depending on how you look at my packing!) that make it on holiday with me must be pretty special. I brought 6 colours and a clear polish with me to Cornwall this year. So here are the polishes that made the cut.

Preppy Summer Look Book

I’ve wanted to do this look book for so long now and I finally got round to this. I know that this won’t be everyone’s style but it is very much mine, neutral colours and lots of navy and stripes. It’s a little nautical and very preppy so if you are allowed to wear your own clothes to school then maybe you can take some outfit inspiration from this. Hope you like it.

My Summer Sun Saviours

I’m sure that you all already know how to stay safe in the sun, I know that I’ve heard it so many times before! But we each have our own way of doing things and different products that we use so I thought that I would quickly share mine with you.

The first and most important thing when spending a day in the sun is sun cream. I really like using Nivea sun creams as the spray bottle makes them really easy to use and whatever factor they are always really light and easy to blend. I can also use these sun creams on my face and they won’t make me breakout which is definitely a bonus. I like to take two different factors with me, one for my face and one for my body. On my face I will nearly always use a factor 50 on my face as I’m really conscious about protecting my skin from the sun now and prevent damage while I’m still young. On beach days, especially just with my family I won’t wear any makeup so Nivea SPF 50 is all I will use. On hotter days where I do want to wear makeup my La Roche Posay 50+ sun cream as it is a nicer base for my makeup. If you want to know a bit more about this product then I did a more detailed review of it in this post here. On my body I like to wear a lower factor so I am more about to tan. I usually start off summer wearing a factor 30 when I am more prone to turning a little pink and then once I have a bit of a base tan I’ll swap to a 20 or a 15.

Another thing that I can’t go to the beach with out is a sun lip balm. Lots of people forget about this but I think that protecting your lips from the sun is just as important as protecting your face or your body. Nobody wants to have cracked damaged lips for summer. I’ve tried so many different sun lip balms but this is definitely my favourite. It’s the only one that doesn’t turn my lips white or leave a line on my lips after a while. This Boots Solan Active one has an SPF of 30 and it’s also nice and pocket friendly.

Finally I can’t go anywhere is summer without my sunglasses. Even if it looks like a cloudy day in the morning you never know when the sun could come out and you always need to be prepared. I always take a hard case around for my sunglasses as well as even though it does take up a bit of room in my bag it the only way to properly keep my sunglasses safe. If I’m going to the beach then I will also take a sunhat with me to protect myself from the sun. I love this one that I got at the beginning from Forever 21 one as the two tone makes it a little bit different.

I wore this simple outfit to go shopping the other and I really liked how this top looked so I took a few photos for you guys. I don't wear this as much as I should as it's one of those tops that you can't really wear with a jacket so you have to be pretty sure of the weather! Thankfully the weather was on my side that day though. The top is the focus of the outfit and I've kept everything else pretty simple so let me know what you think of this look :) xx
