18th Boat Trip Down The Thames

18th Boat Trip Down The Thames

I did say it was going to be all about the 18th parties once exams had finished! However this one was a little different than you typical 18th party. On Tuesday evening I went up to London to meet the group of friends and the birthday girl (I think you can tell this would be a girls party!). After getting the tube we walked to the boat where we were shown to our tables right at the back of the boat with the best view.

I don't normally go out for really posh dinners as I'm such a fussy eater and it's not really worth it. However I was really adventurous and it actually paid off because I thought the food was a amazing. I had two starters one of which was this incredible warm pea soup. My main was like a very fancy chicken roast (which is one of my favourite meals anyway). And then we had two dessert, naturally both of mine were quite heavy on the chocolate!

I also though that this post would be a great way to show you guys my new dress. The dress is from New Look which is one of the places that I don't shop a lot at anymore. I saw this on the website a month ago and just fell in love with it and then when it came I loved it even more because it was such nice fabric, a lot thicker than I was expecting and also the dress is slightly textured. I also paired it with my old prom heels which are getting a little bit old now. However because we were getting the train and walking around London a bit I ended up only really wearing my new pumps, which are so beautiful and I think I'll show you in a post pretty soon.

Hope you all like this outfit post, they seem to be going quite well at the moment but if you want to see more beauty reviews or something else feel free to let me know in the comments below. :) xx

Casual Outfit After Dance Show

Casual Outfit After Dance Show

It is crazy how busy I have been lately so everything it coming a day or so later than it actually happened! But this Sunday and Monday just gone I was in a local dance school showcase. I've done quite a few of these before but it was great fun. Although on Monday night we were three people down and there were very many of us in the first place. We ended up having to spend 10-15 minutes re-choreographing all three dance! Stressfull - yes! But as my amazing dance teacher said "That's just showbiz!" and I think we totally pulled it off.

Anyway this is just a quick post showing you my hair and makeup for the dance show, although this was after the show and about 4 hours after I put in on so I promise it did look a little better than this to begin with! And this is just the casual outfit that I wore to and from the dance show. I'm not really one to wear leggings too much outside dance and sport as normally I feel a bit naked. But I paired them with this baggy light denim shirt and a little scarf and it was such a comfy outfit and perfect for the very unpredictable weather that we are having at the moment.

I'm writing this while stuffing my face with breakfast as I am desperately trying to post everyday before I go on holiday on Sunday. But I'm out all day for the next three days at a fashion course in London so it's getting a little difficult!

June Favourites

June Favourites

Since my exams have finished this month I've been going out a lot more so have had more opportunities to wear makeup. So I have quite a few makeup favourites this month with a little bit of a pink theme because I trying out some products for my prom makeup. Plus I have a couple of hair products, so lets get stuck in.

No7 Stay Perfect Shade and Define - Pink Pearl
I had heard so much about these so when I was in Boots I just had to pick this up and this was the shade that I chose because I think it's so beautiful. I love wearing this all over my lids and a little bit under my lower lash line with loads of mascara. I've fallen so in love with this that at the moment it's what I'm planning to wear to prom! My only issue is what happens when it goes really blunt? Not sure how to sharpen it to get more precision!

MaXfactor Colour Elixir Lip Liner - 02 Pink Petal
I've heard that this is compared to a Charlotte Tilbury lip liner (Pillow Talk I think?) which I've never tried so I won't be able to compare, however I do still love this. This is the first lip liner that I've ever tried and I really live it. It's really natural but I can subtly make my lips look a bit bigger and more defined. Another prom makeup pick I'm thinking!

The Body Shop Define and Lengthen Mascara
I have already talked about this before on this blog a while back but in previous months I have been trying some new mascaras. I started reaching for this one again this month and I can't remember why I ever stopped using it. It does lengthen and define but it never clumps and still looks really natural which I love. Plus the brush is amazing for really getting in there and coating each individual lash which I don't think many other mascaras are able to do that well.

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm - Demure
I've had this for a little while now and I've done a whole blogpost on this before which you can find here for more details and samples. Basically as it has been getting sunnier I found myself wanted to wear a pretty pinky glossy lip more and this always seems to be the one that I reach for.

Benefit The Porefessional
I got this about a month ago as a freebie in a magazine so that's why if you are wondering why this is so little! I feel like everyone has been talking about this recently so I was so excited to try this. The thing is when I first used it I was a little disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. I found the texture a bit gritty and weird. However I've been trying this more this month and I actually really like it I think it's a great base for makeup. I still don't really understand what all of the hype is about but I do like this and I have been reaching for it a lot this month.

Aussie Miracle Shine Shampoo and Conditioner
Aussie has been the only shampoo and conditioner that I have used for probably about 5 years. But this month I was using a different range for Aussie, which was the shine boosting collection. Firstly I love the smell of this and secondly this has done some amazing thing too my hair and it definitely feels a lot silkier. And this has been great for my hair especially as I have been using a lot more heat on it this month.

Hope you have all had a lovely month and a great start to summer :) xx

Marie Claire Freebie

Marie Claire Freebie

Just wanted to do a really quick post to let you guys know about the awesome freebie in Marie Claire at the moment, a mini Ciate caviar manicure set. There are several different colour to choose from but I picked up the grey/purple set which I don't think I will be wearing too much in summer but come Autumn and Winter I think this will look amazing.

I only bought this magazine yesterday to keep me company though a long day dancing at a dance show, and the real reason I picked it up at first was because I had already read all the other fashion magazines in the shop! Sad really! But this is the July issue which I guess means it will be replaced by the August issue tomorrow. Meaning that there is only really today to get your hands on this amazing manicure set. Also I got the magazine on offer for something like £2.60! So definitely check this one out if you can, such a great freebie in my opinion.
