Colour Me Coral: Lip Picks

Maybelline Coloursensational Shine Gloss - Cashmere Rose
So after years of hating lipgloss becuase it's sticky and and my hair gets stuck in it I have finally found one that I love. And I really do love it. I looks perfect and natural on it's own or over the top of any of these other colours.

17 Lasting Finish Lipstick - Honey Blossom
This is a beautiful shimmery pinky coral and it just reminds me of Spring and Summer. I've had it for a while and the formula is really lovely and glossy.

Topshop Lipstick  - Oh La La
The first ever Topshop lipstick that I have owned and I am just so impressed with the formula. Think the bright coral would look amazing in summer with a tan and a bit of mascara for that Parisian Chic makeup look. For my full review of this click here.

Revlon Colour Burst Lacquer Balm - Demure
This isn't really coral but I love it so much that I had to include it. It's a beautiful glitetry baby pink that looks stunning under the Maybelline Shine Gloss. For a full review of this click here.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew - Saved By The Bell
Firstly the quality of these lipsticks are amazing, definitely going to be getting a few more. The colour of this is pretty similar to the 17 Honey Blossom Lipstick but it is less pinky and more nude. But this is the only thing that I have been wearing on my lips for the last week.

MaXfactor Lipstick - Pink Brandy 825
I really love the coral colour of this as it's summery but not really bold so it's easy to pull off. I've also done a full reviews of two of these MaXfactor lipsticks that I have including this colour which you can find here

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I picked this up last weekend and I have been trying it out everyday since. I know that is probably not long enough to write a review of the product so this is more of a first impressions post. But I am really undecided and have really mixed opinions and though it would be interesting to let you know my views so far.

Pros:

  • This removes make up really well - before I have always just asked face wipes to take of my makeup before I do my whole face routine. And I know they aren't meant to be very good but they work really well for me. The only thing I did find was that when I woke up in the morning I would still have some black under my eyes from my mascara or eyeliner. This has none of that, it completely removes every single bit of makeup on my face.
  • The price - I haven't tried Bioderma and don't really know much about it but from what I gather it's fairly expensive and this is only £3.99 for 400ml at the moment in Boots!
  • The product is gentle - after using this my skin feels fresh but not stripped and it doesn't feel dry or tight which I thought was going to be a problem.
  • Really easy and simple to use - just pour a little bit onto a cotton pad and wipe your makeup away. And they bottle is really good and effective.
Cons
  • Stung my eyes a bit - it says you can use it to remove eye makeup so naturally I closed my eyes and then gently wiped my makeup away. But the product still got into my eyes and when it did I found it stung a bit and was kind of uncomfortable. I don't know whether I was doing this wrong or something. Now I have to work really carefully not to get any of this in my eye which is pretty difficult and takes a lot longer.
  • Cotton pads - I don't think I wear a ridiculous amount of makeup at all but to remove all my make up using this product took my 5-6 cotton pads. And that was with trying to use both sides. Compared to only needing one of two face wipes I wasn't sure how I felt about this.
So as you can see I'm really mixed about this product. There are things that I like about it and things that I don't like. I think that I am going to use a make up wipe first to take of the majority of my makeup and then use this to really make sure that everything is completely off my face. Hope this review/first impression was helpful to anybody thinking about buying this product. And if you have tried it then I would love to know what you think or if you have any other product recommendations that you think I would get on better with.
Thanks for reading :) xx

New Statement Necklace

New Statement Necklace

This is the new statement Accessorize necklace that I bought last weekend that I have been so excited to show you. I am just in love with it and think it would look lovely with so many different things. What I really like about this necklace is that it is fairly subtle for a statement necklace so it can still be worn just everyday to dress up a plain jumper and a pair of jeans. And with the weather at the moment in England it seems like that's what I'm going to be wearing a lot. I also love the colours of like necklace as they are very simple and mean that it will go with nearly everything.

I can't wait until all of my revision and exams are over so I can start actually leaving the house and wearing this!

If you like this necklace then you can find it here:

Exams And A Blog Update

Exams And A Blog Update

So this is just a short post to let you know what is going to be going on on Penney Chic over the next month and a bit. Tomorrow marks the first day of my exams, and it's the 13th so that's a great start. But how cute are all my family for sending me these good luck cards? I also got some money and some chocolate but they are both already gone!

Anyway, over the last few months school has been cranking up the pressure but through a mix of revision and mocks and homework I like to think that I have managed to stay pretty active on my blog. However with exams actually starting I've decided that everything else needs to take a bit of a backseat. I haven't really had a social life for a while and I barely even have time to watch TV!

So this is just a post to apologise in advance for not being very active over the next few weeks. Lately I've been trying to post every other day but now I recon it is going to be more like once or twice a week. I have a long and ever growing list of post ideas and I have lots of exciting thing this summer to write about such as my leavers ball, girlie holiday to Majorca, Paris with my boyfriend, Cornwall with my family and Devon with my best friend, and of course my 18th birthday at the end of summer!

I know I'm a pretty new blog with not very many readers so this isn't really the best time to be going on a bit of a blog break or not posting as much. But I just wanted to thank everyone that does read and comment on my blog, it really means a lot. And I hope that you guys can wait for me to get my exams over with so I can get back to blogging as much as I would like. Thank you xx

P.S. Good luck to anyone else who also has exams coming up :)
