I've never been one for a heavy foundation, in fact I've never bought a foundation at all! One day... But a couple of years or so ago when I started getting more into makeup and wearing skin makeup BB creams were right up my street. I wanted something to cover but not cake and that is exactly what they offer. 

I've wanted to talk about this BB cream for a while but haven't got round to it until now. Firstly I don't have oily skin and if anything my skin is more combination/dry so I think calling this product matte is a bit misleading. I picked this up about 4 months ago now as needed a new BB cream, like Rimmel as a brand and this one looked good (on the adverts, but hey!). As soon as I used it I was just amazed. It covered everything that I wanted to be covered, all my blemishes and uneven skin, but it did look cakey, which surprised me as being "matte" I had half expected it too. The lasting power of this is also really great and I don't think I can say enough good things about it. I wear it to school everyday and to parties and dinners out in the evening and it works for both without making me break out. 

The only thing that I could fault though is the shade range. I wouldn't say that I am particularly pale but the light shade is the perfect colour for me, and normally I am more of a medium. So if you are very pale then maybe this is not the right product for you. But apart from that even if you have dry skin and you feel like putting a matte product on your face would be a bad idea I would really recommend you give this ago. I have a little collection of these not just in case it runs out so I will never ave to go without it!

I love Soap and Glory body products like their shower gels and moisturisers as the packaging is cool and they smell amazing. However I can't really say I'm a true Soap and Glory fan as I have never tried one of their face products. It sounds bad but I didn't think that Soap and Glory specialised in skin products and I was worried about putting something from the brand on my face as I have pretty sensitive skin. A few of weeks ago I was shopping in Boots (as I do every weekend!) with a friend and as we were browsing she grabbed this from the shelf, shoved it in my face and told me that I needed it. I love a good face mask anyway and they are the sort of product where it is always good to have a little selection to use when your skin is doing different things - being dry, breaking out, looking irritated etc. 

Just like when bloggers recommend products you know that they've tried it and used it and are giving their honest opinion. But when a friend recommends something to you and says you NEED it, you can expect it to be good! So I put it in my basket and paid for it with my Boots points. 

The product is like an exfoliator and a mask in one. You massage it into dry skin and then leave it on your face for 5-15 minutes depending on what you feel like. Its a pale mint green colour and smells quite strongly of minty toothpaste or something along those line. Probably not everyone's favourite but I think that it smells refreshing and clean. The mask has quite fine grains in to exfoliate the skin without being irritating or too harsh. 

I am just in love with this product at the moment. I've probably used it 7 times since I bought it and it's like I just touched the surface as a little goes such a long way, so this is going to last me forever. I like to use it just after I've cleansed me face just before toner and moisturiser or any of that stuff. It really does feel like it's just cleaning out my pores and after my skin feels so clear and fresh. And I have actually noticed such an improvement to my skin in the last couple of weeks which I think has been a mix of this mask and my Body Shop Vitamin E daily moisturiser which is just as amazing. 

I've just been so impressed with Soap and Glory and am desperate to try out some more of their skincare products soon. Does anyone have any good recommendations for me? If so please let me know in the comments below. xx

One Year

One Year

Exactly a year ago today is when I was first asked out by my boyfriend Jack. It was a cold Friday and we awkwardly walked to Nero's and then to the park after school. We sat on a bench drinking hot chocolates when he asked me if by any chance I wanted to be his girlfriend, and I guess the rest is history. It's about as cringey as it could get as it was the first relationship for us both but looking back it was very sweet.

I guess this is a cheesy post but as well as being about fashion and beauty I want to be able to share parts of my everyday life on my blog too. We didn't really do much today but yesterday I went back to his house after school and we ate a lot of Dairy Milk and watched four episodes of Suits on Netflix! We also exchanged small gifts and this is the beautiful little silver heart necklace that I received as well as a handmade card and a cute letter. I got him a lovely bracelet from notonthehighstree.com that is engraved with the date 03/05/13. Notonthehighstreet does really lovely personal gifts so if you haven't checked out their website you definitely should. 

We didn't do anything special as it is so close to exams and we didn't spend a load of money either. I really do think it is the little things that count and showing the people you love what they mean to you, not just once a year but everyday really matters. And I know I'm so young and I still have so much to learn about life and love and relationships but at the moment I'm happy and I think that's what's important. xx

Don't you just love it when you see something in a shop that you love but it is a little over your budget and then a few weeks later you find it just in your size for 65% off? Plus a load of other bargains in the sale as well! Don't worry, I don't think this has ever happened to me ever, since last week! It was kinda like finding £50 in a coat pocket that you forgot about. And because I bought these in the sale I like to think that I saved about £50 as well! 

Gap is having such an amazing sale at the moment with up to 75% off. And I know three pairs of the same jeans in different shades of blue is a bit excessive, but I just fell in love with all of them. I just think that they are the most beautiful shades and the colours are really unusual. The one of the left is my favourite and then one that I saw first before it was in the sale. It's just the perfect baby blue colour, and I have never see this shade before. The middle colour is a bit more out of my comfort zone as they are brighter, but they aren't bold or in your face and I think they look really classy. And finally I already have a pair of mint jeans but the Gap ones of the right are so much brighter and a much prettier colour. I brought them home and compared them to my other ones and they really aren't that similar so I know I will wear both. And for £15 how could I say no?
