Exploring Durham's Gardens
I've just got back from a lovely extra long weekend in Durham with my boyfriend. It's so nice to have a little bit of time every now and again away from the stress of work and university life.
We didn't really do anything fancy (being students and and all that!) but we did have a few great days out to different places. I took my camera and having just looked back at all of the photos I realise that I actually only used it on one day! So these photos were taken yesterday in some beautiful gardens.
On the Thursday Jack still had lectures so in the morning I woke up with him and went along to two of his Economics lectures. It was so strange and so different to my own lectures. It's crazy to think that this time last year I was planning on doing an Economics degree as well! I tried to understand it but to be honest most of it just went over my head. I think I am much more suited to a Fashion Marketing degree!
On the Friday, after a bit of a lazy morning we took the train up to Newcastle to spend the day there. We went to a lovely little museum that was really interesting. I did take a few photos there but it was really dark so they didn't really turn out that great! Then after a little bit of lunch we wondered around the shopping centre and I may have made a little purchase!
On Saturday after an especially lazy morning which consisted of waking up late, going to brunch and then taking another nap, we spent a few hours in the afternoon wondering around the Botanic Gardens. Despite it being so windy it was still a really lovely afternoon and I managed to get a few good photos. My favourite part was the indoor cactus section. They were all so cool, especially the star shaped one! And I'm really desperate to get one in a little white pot that I can keep in my room now. It would be perfect for me as they don't need that much looking after!
Today we just woke up late, had breakfast in bed and watched Bugs Life! Then this afternoon I got the train home which was a bit of an eventful journey which consisted of my swapping seats 3 times and sitting next to a girl with her music so loud I could hear all of the lyrics. And then fact that she was listening to club music made it even stranger when she managed to fall asleep next to me and start snoring! Thankfully I had the latest Cosmo to keep me company so it wasn't all bad!
How awesome is this star cactus?!
Guess it's back to work now though. I got a bit organised on the train and made myself a long "To do" list so I'm going to spend the rest of the evening making my way through that. And maybe the latest episode of PLL too! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Lots of love xx
